Planetside 2's equivelant of a guild is an outfit. I've hear that there are some bonuses for outfit members, plus they can rank within the outfit separately from the Battle Ranks. Also you'll be able to wear a clan tag before your name. Unfortunately I can't find any more information about it anywhere. I still think that we should create a SWF outfit, but who should be the leader? Is Scriv up for the responsibility? Does he have the skills to use the outfit features for maximum effect? If not, who would?

I would put my name in for the running, I've gotten pretty familiar with the rest of the aspects of the game, however, whenever I have a question, I ask either Spartan or Iwazzio, so they may be better candidates to lead an SWF outfit if Scriv is not willing or able.

Good idea Al. I think whoever creates the outfit is leader by default. I know a squad leader has to be battle level 10 which unlocks the ability to deploy squad spawn beacons, and also order the squad to attack/defend map locations. Does this tie in with outfit leader in any way? This list gives an idea that the creation of an outfit would put SWF on the PS2 map. wiki.planetside-universe.com/ps/List_of_Outfits

I am supportive of a knowledgeable member of our organization leading our Spartan War Fighters into battle.
Spartan did a great job of training a number of us in ArmA 2 / DayZ.
It needs to someone who wants the position, is knowledgeable about Planetside, is patient and willing to teach, and can lead us into Battle.
So, there are really two questions to be answered.
1) Who wants to be the PS2 leader?
2) Who do you want to be the PS2 leader?

Before the "Outfit" is created, we need to identify who should create it.
Is the outfit tied to our nominated "leader" of the group?
If it does not matter, then I should create the "Outfit."
Let's get it figured out so we can get organized and start accumulating Outfit stats, if applicable.

I nominate Spartan and/or Iwazzio as the PS2 SWF outfit leader, because whenever I have a question in-game, they always seem to have the answer. I think this is the most important part of being the outfit leader, as all of us need to know the aspects of the game, and need to be able to learn them quickly. This is made much easier with a leader who knows the game well enough to help other Spartans, as well as being able to get us organized, and of course the ability to strategize should not be overlooked.

I nominate Spartan and/or Iwazzio as the PS2 SWF outfit leader I will second that Phoenix. Hopefully either or both would be happy to take on the role. I've been putting in some time (around 15hrs) but am still very patchy about a lot of stuff. Every time I play something new crops up. I have some basic squad leader options now which can help in a battle if they are needed.

Spartan and Iwazzio are good choices in my opinion too. They know more about PS2 than the rest of us.
I'm wondering, can there be multiple squads within an outfit, and if so, can the outfit leader give orders to the squad leaders, who then forward those orders to the squad members? If we get enough people playing at the same time, it might be best to divide into two Teamspeak channels and squads. We could then utilize the channel commander function in Teamspeak: essentially it's squad leader -only voice chat.

Al,
I know there can be multiple squads in a platoon, but I don't know if they are automatically set up in an outfit.

Gents, I created a SWF Outfit just to see how it it all worked From what I can tell, I have the option to leave (so uncreating) or invite friends. I tried to invite SWF friends, but players must be online. Once the outfit is populated ranks and privilages can be changed. The ranks descend from leader, officer down to recruit. Hopefully I can change down from leader once a more able person come in ;D It looks like all Outfits are listed with clan website info and description of gameplay preferences etc. This could be a good recruitment tool for SWF, so there can be only one man in the Outfit's leader's position What do you say Scriv ;D As I said, this was just experimental. I can leave the Outfit and we can ask Scriv to create a new one. I thought if a few guys joined the existing one we could try shuffling the ranks about. I would be happy either way. What do you think guys ?

Do you know what kind of tools does the outfit leader get his hands on, other than making members officers etc? And what kind of privileges are you talking about? This should be interesting.

Here are the privileges for each rank. Private and Recruit are the same as Member. Anyone below Officer can only join the voice channel. (num. pad 9) PS: Notice I've spent a bit of 'Station Cash' since the last screen? I put it all on upgrading the Sunderer guns and defenses. Any Sunderer I use will now be a spawn point and vehicle ammo point. ;D

Bumped into Viper Planetside tonight. Inviting him into the Outfit was easy enough. I was also able to make him leader and myself officer. Changing ranks is now out of my hands It is all up to you now Viper ;D
