I did not make posts about the upcoming DLC and special packages because I did not want to spread the hype or present negative news.
Take time to make an informed decision. Let's enjoy the games we play and fighting with Spartans.

It would and is great to see participation and folks posting. I encourage you to continue to keep us informed. I was just letting my disgust for DICE appear. I will try to limit showing outward distain for DICE in the future.
It is also good to see around six players on BF3 on a regular basis.
I do not want to bring anyone down. Keep fighting the good fight!

There is a trailer of Armored Kill on Youtube, I just can't seem to be able to find it. It shows the desert map ("Bandar Desert"?) and a snow map. Both feature the AC-130.
Which brings me to my point. The AC-130 acts as a spawn point to whoever holds a certain flag. It also features at least two gunner positions as far as I know. But the things is, it's on rails and no one can pilot it. Every vehicle in Battlefield should be drivable. That's how it has always been. But now they introduce the on-rails AC-130. I don't know if the reason for that is because CoD has on-rails vehicles that rain death from above or because of engine limitations, (I think you are able to perform parachute jumps from it like in the single player, but Frostbite isn't good with handling players on top of moving vehicles...) but I don't like it. If the engine limits it and makes it impossible to fly for some reason, don't put it in.
I might be boycotting the Armored Kill expansion just because of the on-rails vehicle. The maps might be decent or even good but I don't approve what DICE is doign here. First it's health regeneration, then it's no mod tools, then it's vehicle health regeneration, now it's vehicles on-rails, what's next? Vehicles as killstreak rewards? If anything even close to that is in BF4, I won't buy it.

I know I shouldn't respond to this but I AM The original concern was whether this was going to be the 'biggest ever' Battlefield map. (as Dice promised, and we know all about their promises) All BF vets moaned they wanted maps like Fushe Pass.(inc me) This is longer than Fushe and the same distance again in width, not a long valley. We are getting what we wanted. Large maps for BF2 vets. Where does a 130 on rails come into it ? It is a mobile spawn point gunship which is destroyable and can be defended. The war in the air is another game altogether. If you are on the ground it need not concern you at all, as long as the enemy air force is not dominating. I think a 130 'on rails' is better than no 130 at all. It adds something new ;D ;D ;D ;D I am smiling ;D ;D ;D PS: The UAV in BF2 can not be piloted. The MAV in BF3 can

Al I could be wrong but I think Spartan said that there was something similar to this in an earlier BF game (?) Really enjoying the current vehicle maps at the moment and looking forward to playing something bigger. I'll be purchasing AK on release..........for telemetry reasons

Al I could be wrong but I think Spartan said that there was something similar to this in an earlier BF game ? BTTF, I know in 2142 transport helis are pilotable spawn points. Good pilots circulate the map allowing players to spawn in to either parachute on to flags/cylos for attack/defence. Bad pilots fly directly to the action and get destroyed along with all aboard. (I am defending the 'on rails' argument) I'm not sure if 1942 had anything similar ;D

BTTF, you are not wrong. Spartan said that something similiar existed in BF 1943, the console game which was never released on PC. You could go into an air raid bunker (you'd be ssafe there) and control an air raid consisting of three planes. They go from west to east (or something like that) and youy can just steer them to the left or to the right. You can switch to "bomb view" to see where the bombs would land. Planes and AA could shoot them down one by one.
But the AC130 is different. It doesn't come from 1 km away from the map and slowly approach the place wreacking havoc on a strip of land, it just circles around (in how large circles, I don't know), acts as a spawn point and has machine guns on it. But why isn't it pilotable? You can't alter its route at all. Why can't it be like in BF1942: Desert Combat (haven't played) or like a similiar plane in Forgotten Hope? (even if in FH it hasn't got any guns on it and isn't an AC-130)
I think every vehicle should be drivable in every Battlefield game. From tanks and helicopters to aircraft carriers and AC-130's. That's what makes BF so different from most games: you can be infantry, you can be armored, you can fly, you can put C4 on a vehicle and Jihad it into an enemy tank, just your imagination and engine limits are limiting you. Sure, if you could fly the AC-130 most people would just fly it in circles, but at least we would have the choice. Maybe someone would think of something creative. Maybe load a tank into it and drop it on an enemy flag.
I don't want my actions to be limited.
Wobbly: keep smiling, I'm just expressing my opinion here. And no, we don't have any previous experience in anything like AC-130 so we can't know what will it exactly be. So far I don't like it.

Wow looks Great to me cant wait ;D
Would be nice if those that are enjoying BF3 could put posts on the forum without being slated.
Was going to put a post on the latest unlocks but gave up because am getting frustrated with the negativity. Well done Spartan & BTTF for attempting to put a positive post up. Lets please have some more
