Thats a complete rip off for the q series processors, they should be around 50 squid. You have a real dilema there though as you cant use your graphics card to its full potential.

Still running my MSI K9N2 SLi Platinum motherboard with my AMD Phenom II 965 Black Edition (C3), 8GB of DDR2 1066 RAM, SSD, HDD, and GTX 560Ti Superclocked GPU.
I use about 75% of my systems power on BF3, not too bad for a 2 year old design with a 1 year old GPU, the problem is most people just see upgrades with motherboards, RAM, CPU's, and GPU's, then you blow up ur power supply (PSU).
Remember fellow Spartans Check those +12V Rails (look for a PSU that has only 1 +12V rail as they usually are what you want for gaming) and also check the 5V rails as your CPU will run off that, 80+ and Active PFC are a MUST for gaming, and then check the wattage.
My system running on on High/Ultra (everything is on Ultra except texture size as that takes up 1250mb of VRAM and I have 1GB) and I get 50-60 FPS.

It was a painful process but I can say that the n52, joystick problem was solved. Found a combo of solutions on the Internet, tried them all but here is what worked:
- started campaign mode and deleted all joystick key mapping on foot, jet, etc - Disconnected both the Game pad and the joystick - deleted all the drivers to include all the virtual drivers associated with the both. I did not uninstall the software associated with them - restarted the computer - plugged in the joystick only - started BFBC2, yes I typed the correctly and mapped the joystick - exited BFBC2 - started BF3 and low and behold it mapped (I hit save after every move) - I went back and remapped some of the triggers on the joystick so they all worked - plugged in the n52e All the mappings that were originally loaded stuck and there appears to be no issues. Took some flights in the jets, and helicopters, a bit different than BFBC2 but I'm up in the air. Chopper is actually harder for me than the jets which is odd because I had the chopper down in Vietnam and BFBC2. Just need some more practice I hope.

I'm ready for some BF3 tonight. You european types will probably be in bed by then, but let's get the North American guys out there to support this new guy. Air temperature this morning in St. Paul is -11F (-24C). Time to stay inside and fire up the computer.

Sorry about yesterday folks, I'm still troubleshooting how to get my gf to either find something to do on her own, or enjoy watching me play with the clan. Drinking doesn't work, lol, just leads to other things. I'm building her a computer now though, and it should be done by the end of the week. Hehe, sneaky way to diffuse aggro -- give her a computer to play around with so she doesn't bug me on mine.

I've decided to complete the rest of my upgrade with :
I5 2500k Corsair A70 cooler Asus P8Z68 v lx motherboard 8Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 low profile ram.
......... but I've just read that Intel will be releasing their new Ivy Bridge cpu's in April. So if the money doesn't burn a hole in my pocket before then I'm gonna try and wait to see how they compare on price in the uk.

:oThe A70 looks a big F**k*r.
Looks like you'll need to knock a hole in the side of your case, you could always cover it up with a shoe box. ;D
Have you thought about watercooling, ive got the corsair H80 which seems to work very well and is very compact. Ive adjusted the fans so it takes hot air out the case. Is also v quite. Just a shame my GTX580 sounds pretty loud when worked hard.
Id definately go with 8GB ram, I went with 4 initially but noticed everyone was getting into games quicker. Only just upgraded to 8 last week.
Thats a hard choice on processor I5 is great, but I like you would currently be tempted to hold on.

I'll double check the dimensions of the A70 because the Antec 300 case I've got is slightly narrower than most. Never really looked into water cooling, have you overclocked ? I've noticed bf3 only uses just over 3gb ram, have you noticed any benefit upgrading to 8gb ? Yeah, it's gonna be a long couple of months to the Ivy Bridge release, gonna have to be strong
