Just in case you missed it BF3 beta comes out on 29 September, 27 September if you meet some of the requirements. Not the final version, can't keep your rank when the final relase comes out but it sure will be nice to see if it's everything we're hoping for. See www.battlefield.com/battlefield3/1/beta for more details

Has anyone else repurchased the game besides me. I'm a sucker for the new Frostbite engine and while I'm disappointed a few of the BF2 features didn't make it over I think it will rock!

27 SEP is for those who purchased Medal of Honor and who buy BF3 through Origin.
Everyone else has to wait until 29 SEP.
The map will be Operation Metro. I believe DICE said it would be capped out at 32 players for PC for the Beta.

I've put it off fot over two years but...Finally going to upgrade to 64 bit windows this weekend then move up to 8gb RAM. Should be more than enough to handle the game.

As far as I know Ghost we have all pre-ordered BF3. We will not get the BF2 days back, but we have to look foreward and this will rock. Just read a PCFormat preview who gave it 10/10!

I've had the 1 GB nVidia 275 for a longtime, should be plenty. Runs hot but I've significanly increased the fans on my box and run EVGA Precision to keep an eye out (and increase fan speed to heat automatically). The one lesson I learned long ago was to open the darn desk door to get some ventilation into the cupboard.

Got back from TDY last night and downloaded. Beta plays just fine on my upgraded box. Not digging the inability to do any real adjustments to the keyboard map. I just have my certain way of mapping my mouse and keyboard that I can't get done in the Beta. For whatever ason I can only use the LMB and RMB on the mouse, leaving 4 mouse buttons unmapped! It's not tough gameplay, my 7 year old has been playing for me today.

So my upgraded rig has survived the Beta. Those months of field stripping and upgrading what used to be a Dell have paid off. Started with the power supply, moved to 750Gb HD, moved onto the motherboard, quad core, new video card, and finally brought out the tools and cut 4 new fans into the box....but the case still says Dell!
Video card definitkey runs a bit warmer, hit 76 yesterday playing BF3 but my FPS appears to stay above 60. We'll have to play around with the real deal at the end of the month and get that best graphics settings for the best FPS.

The Fans are designed to last over 5 million hours so dont worry.
