The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Pandorum Dawn of the Dead - remake Lord of the Rings series I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell Cube, Cube 2: Hypercube, Cube Zero Underworld Zombieland The Matrix -- ONLY the first one... after that it just gets..... dumb. Yes Man V for Vendetta Kick-Ass Crank Donnie Darko Monty Python and the Holy Grail Office Space Requiem for a Dream Team America - World Police Top Gun The Waterboy Untraceable Source Code
Not in any particular order, except for the first one -- definitely my favorite movie... and strangely enough I actually like the movie better than the book.

Machine Gun Preacher was a very good film based on a true story.

One of my favorite scenes from The Dogs of War. I love the look when the guy finds the smut mag. ;D

Is that a very, VERY young Christopher Walken? Nice.
I don't really like old movies all that much... I don't know if its the audio, the visuals, or the (usually) poor acting, but I just can't seem to get into them. I was barely able to watch the original Dawn of the Dead, and god help you if you want me to sit through something along the lines of Casablanca... I just plain don't like old movies...
Guess its an age thing... I grew up in the 90s. That should explain everything.

It indeed looks like Christopher Walken.
I've noticed that Phoenix doesn't like almost anything old, especially if it has bad graphics, sounds, effects or anything old. I can listen to music from the 70's, classic music from 1700's, jazz, heavy metal, pretty much anything. There isn't really any kind of a "age limit" for the movies I watch, although I don't think I could last through a film from the 20's... I mean 1920's. Since I couldn't have watched them when they were released, I'm watching movies from 80's-90's now. In the last five years I've been playing many games from the early 2000's. Deus Ex, Battlefield 2, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six: Raven Shield... And I was born in the 90's.
I don't understand how some people care so much about visuals that they can only watch new movies, play new games and listen to new music. Try to open your mind for new (old) things.

AL, it looks like you are trying to stir the pot.
Are you trying to pick a forum fight?

That's kind of how it seems to me too, but I will not oblige. I can listen to classical music as well, and I do like some songs from the 60s-70s, The main issue with the older movies is the acting, but the visuals and audio do play a small part in my boredom with those movies.
As for games, there are some from the early 2000s that I enjoy, don't get me wrong, I like a good storyline... it's just I have plenty of games that I play on a regular basis now, and adding more to it makes things rather difficult to keep track of. I don't appreciate the assumption that I do not have an open mind. Someone with a closed mind is someone who won't even try something once. I have tried things of the genres we've discussed, and I did not enjoy them. Therefore, I don't feel that I need to continue trying things of that particular genre. It is mistaken to call me closed-minded because I don't like something that I've tried, or given a chance.
Again, I will not fight about this. I have defended myself, but I will not continue this conversation if I am going to get insulted due to my personal tastes.

I'm not trying to start up a fight. I'm just wondering why is it that some people like all kinds of music or movies, while some only prefer action films for example. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. Human behaviour is just a thing that interests me. At some point I couldn't stand heavy metal or rap music at all or listen to jazz, but now I'm fine with them and like jazz quite a lot now. I didn't mean to say that you have a closed mind.
I don't know why have I been posting so negative posts in the past few days. Maybe it's the pressure on school, the finals and making decisions that will affect the rest of my life: where should I apply for after my current school? It's quite stressful.
I'm going to stop posting for a while to settle things down both in the forums and in my head.

That is Christopher Walken. I love the old 70s movies best car chases with real people driving not that CGI stuff. The 7UPs car chase a classic through NYC.
Roy Schreider actually did the final stunt you can't act that scared. Also the bad guy that was passenger rode in the car the entire chase. He was shitting his pants a few times.

Good chase, I agree. You don't really see a lot of chases like that anymore, but not everything nowadays is CGI... there are still real car chases. Transporter series, anytime there's a Bond car chase, stuff like that.
And Al, I understand the stress, I am under quite a bit as well. Truce?

Yeah, let's make a truce. Once again I'll try to be less negative in the future.
I've liked the Transporter films. Have you seen the latest Bond film, Skyfall? I liked it a lot. At times it was a bit too predictable, but some parts were genuinely thrilling. There are a couple of nods to the past Bond movies, it is the franchise's 50th anniversary after all.

I did see Skyfall, and I agree, it is definitely awesome. I do enjoy Daniel Craig's portrayal of Bond, but I also think Pierce Brosnin did the best out of the ones I've seen (everything from Man with the Golden Gun to the present). I will never get tired of Golden Eye.

Watched Oliver Stone's movie Savages not bad. I think he took some inspiration from Army of Two.
