I was referred to this forum by sfscriv whom I met on the SF server....
We played very well within our squad and used comms the whole time. It's a relief to play with people who actually beleive in proper communication and using proper radio protocol.... I'm not super regimented in my playing style, but I do like to lead and be followed when I'm the Squad Leader. And, by the same token BE TOLD WHAT TO DO when I'm on a squad. I hope to run into sfscriv and the members of the =SWF= clan again.
I'm also thinking of setting up a public server and would like to know how many people would be interested in a server where Chopper and plane sleepers are kept on a tight leash by making Choppers and planes a part of the assets you can destroy in an uncap.
Let me know what y'all think.

Welcome, to the =SWF= Forum. I would be willing to fight with you in the near future. My Xfire username is gendarth so just add me.
As for the server, chopper and plane sleepers on a leash.......sounds fun, but at the same time annoying to be honest. I am one of those guys that if you kill me when i'm in a chopper or plane and im still on the ground, I WILL have revenge.
That's a Yes for me. I'm interested.

akulacan-
Welcome to the =SWF= forum. I've been a bit out of the loop the last few weeks so hopefully you've found more of us online to play and hunt down the enemy with.
All of us use Xfire to make initial contact then head to a battlefield server. I believe I speak for all of us when I say you will likely get the same professional communications with all of us at =SWF=. Most of us have military or police type backgrounds which helps as we develop techniques, tactics, and procedures to fight on the battlefield.
My Xfire username is "ghstrdr060" (without the quotes). I shall be returning to my Battlefield ready computer near the end of this month and look forward to seeing you on the battlefield.

Hay, gang I added a few people on Xfire.
I'm mostly a Highway Tampa guy seeing as how I absolutely LOATHE the attack choppers. With that said, I usually hang out on any maps that contain no attack choppers..... I feel they have an advantage that is much to unfair for gameplay to be enjoyable.

Another reason we need to establish air superiority when we fight. Keep them off our back. Something to think about as we continue to develop TTPs.

About the attack choppers.. I usually shoot a couple down placing a jeep in a position where the chopper has to turn to get a shot at me.. And shoot them with the MG untill they turn, and then shift position.. In that manner, a chopper doesn't have a chance because of the forward motion a chopper pilot has to use, and also the slow turning ability the attack chopper has.

I definitely agree with needing members that can maintain air superiority.
I have a friend at school that used to play before he lost his CD's that was quite a dominant foe in the Surface to Air Missile (SAM) emplacement. I keep reminding him to look for his lost CD's to get him back on the battlefield.
Other things to take into account are the mechanisms in the game to balance out the jets. Such as being able to one shot them with tanks, and anti-air. I didn't know the proper tactics of shooting down aircraft with anti-air for a long time... and only until just now have I been implementing anti-air techniques on maps such as wake island. The jets are so difficult to hit and shoot down. I am sure there are other ways, such as what Vunde suggested for nailing jets.
Although, when you have people who like to fly at the minimum speed in the jet to conduct bombing runs, I can usually pick them off pretty easily with a tank.
