Early access for Assetto Corsa is now available on Steam. In my quest to find the best racing sim/game I thought I would take this baby out for a spin. WOW! this game is going to be awesome. It looks beautiful, sounds amazing and most importantly feels right. There are not many features available yet, but from the menus you can see what is coming. What is available ATM is around 10 cars and 6 tracks with practice and time attack and a few challenges. Single player career and multiplayer are yet to arrive. I believe content is going to be added every fortnight until the game is complete. I recommend all SWF petrol heads to check this out! www.assettocorsa.net/en/

After doing even more research it seems this is a separate title. Eerily similar models, graphics and physics after watching a few vids. It looks like Project Cars has just a bit more refined graphics though. It makes me wonder it they are developed on the same engine or one from Slightly Mad Studios. Even if it isn't it gives us something to play with until the actual release of Project cars.

The future is looking good for driving/racing games. This is good news for PC games in general, because I think it is the driving games which push the boundaries.

I have to say that the graphics in Assetto Corsa and Project Cars are unbelievably good. Finally we have reached the graphical fidelity when we can't see the difference between computer-generated imagery and real world. Somehow it's a bit scary.
