OK, while we are waiting for Star Citizen this looks good for us space heads. (Planetside2 has really messed me up)
I played X3 Reunion a few years back and loved it. Very addictive.

A newish video of general game-play. I'm very tempted to go for this game. November seems a long way off

I have x3 Terran conflict and wasn't overly impressed tbh. I can understand this type of game won't appeal to all, or many come to that. It's like driving games, you love em or hate em. What appeals to me is the adventure, freedom of choice and scale (size matters! ) I'm quite exited about a change in direction. I've donated towards Star Citizen which I think will be the 'biggie'. Who knows, they might both be crap!

I've just finished the campaign in X Rebirth and now I have to choose a direction/career and go it alone If anyone is considering buying this game hold out for now. It is so buggy it makes the whole experience very frustrating. To complete the campaign I had to Google fixes for bugs and find workarounds. This is a shame because I think it is beautiful and immersive (and addictive) Are any games finished on release these days?

After watching some of the videos you posted, I got quite excited. A bit later I read the RPS article (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/11/21/wot-i-think-x-rebirth/) and decided it wasn't good enough to be bought. What a shame. It did look promising. Then again, if it's as complex as I imagine it is, I don't think I would have liked it.

It is a shame. But it does look as good as the videos, even better really. The complexity is a two edged sword. The manual is the size of Lord of the Rings, but when you work something out and achieve the objective it is very satisfying. It will be sorted out in time and will be the space sim to beat

Well, I've now decided that this game is unplayable. I have put the hours into it to 'give it a chance' and have given up.
For me this is the biggest gaming disappointment in history. Yes, exceeding ....... well you know!
From potentially the best new game release, this is now the worst. It will be sorted with patches, but after spending £40 I am well pissed off.
Don't bother even thinking about it for another six months.
