I just wondered if any one is using SSDs or SSHDs.
I've been watching the price slowly fall and was considering whether the benefits are worth the cost.
I don't mind waiting a little while for the PC to boot, but is there any benefit in game ? Any FPS gain ?
Any thoughts guys ?

I kitted my new PC with ssd's and they make a massive difference in how fast you PC boots, open files, downloads games etc! I will never get a old style hard disk again! The down size is the the biggest you can buy is around 250 gb and they are still more expensive but if you need new/ more storage I highly recommend getting ssd

I have just brought an SSHD with 750gb. I made it my main drive with a clean install of windows, and have seen a vast improvement in boot times as well as my games appear to be running better if that's possible. Its not as fast as an SSD but its not far off. I paid £75 for it from ebuyer.

Was it this one Aus ? m.ebuyer.com/321969I see it a few days ago in a newsletter from Ebuyer which prompted me to ask the question. They are considerably cheaper per Gb.

If you order make sure you have the power lead if required, the cable to connect to motherboard and bracket to secure in pc as they don't come with it. Mind you though, a mate also brought at the same time and got the cable. You can pick up the bracket/cable/power lead for about 2.99 from ebuyer I think.

Here are two very good reviews from PC Gamer on SSDs:
DEC 2012 - Plextor, M5 Pro, 256 GB MAY 2013 - OCZ, Vector, 256 GB
At the time of the reviews, the hard drives were going for around $230.

hopefully this will accommodate W7, PS2, Arma3 and maybe BF4. If not, just the first two should do
