I love Canadiens. A small piece of C4 under a canteen cup is much simpler and quicker. Yes it works, old trick I learned from a Nam Vet.

How small of a piece of C4 would NOT explode when ignited??

I have seen a pile of C4 with 20+ blocks on fire. It needs pressure/impact to explode. Otherwise, it just burns.

Most modern explosives need a blasting cap and or booster to detonate. Same with Det cord you can hold a torch to it it won't ignite.
C4 burns very hot also just need a pinch for a cup of Joe.
