Alpha was released on 5 MAR at a discounted rate. The release is exclusively on STEAM. The minimum and recommended system requirements are out. I haven't looked them up yet.

That blows,I did not like steam when I played Day of Defeat,CS. I had a CC # stolen off there. Until I can get the disc from Amazon or a crack it will be a no-go. I understood with steam you can't play the campaign offline.

Downloading as I type this. Can't wait to try it out. Let's make sure to get into TS so we can team up. There is now an ArmA3 channel.

As with ArmA2 we need to gather on this with a very patient ArmA vet to baby sit us noobs (Auscam seems to be putting in some hours ) I have meddled with the missions but have wimped out of multiplayer so far. It would be cool to get together and help each other through ;D

I have maxed out all the settings to 'Ultra' and things look smooth. i5-2500, GTX 670 & 8GB RAM This is on the single player missions, so could slow down on multiplayer. I have an i7 960, three GTX480's in SLI, a GTX 465 for PhysX and 6GB DDR3 and the game runs at about 28FPS and dips as low as 17 on ultra in the editor. I was talking to Lambourne yesterday and he said he runs about the same. The processor and RAM run about 40% usage and the game is using 6 of the available 8 threads/cores so I am beginning to think we are being limited by our hard drives. Despite the low FPS it still looks very smooth. Not sure how they worked that but maybe fraps isn't regestering frames correctly with the new game? Anyone know a better way to record FPS?

I was playing on the Wasteland multiplayer servers this weekend and I can report about the same performance as you guys are having. 25 to 32 fps with settings on ultra. My rig is getting a little old now, first gen i7-920 (3.6ghz), 12GB RAM, ati hd 6950(OC), vista 64 bit. Alpha crashed on me a few times but I enjoyed my time messing around with it. I don't know if FRAPS is accurate or not but it does seem odd that we are all getting the same performance with different hardware.
