The Non-Player Characters (NPCs) in your squad can be controlled using voice commands. Added this so you do not have to bounce around the forum to configure the Voice AI commands:

Last time I saw voice commands in a game was Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and the demo for Binary Domain. The first was on Xbox 360, the latter one for PC (a horrible console port). In my experiences, it didn't work. When I was telling my team mates to be stealthy, they would rush in to the next room with guns blazing. Etc. The voice recognition just didn't work in those games. Thankfully you could issue orders to the Rainbow team with the controller.
Binary Domain was ambitious: you could praise the team mates for success or curse at them if they were doing bad. But it didn't work really well either. I couldn't get the game to recognise half the words it was supposed to, but I guess I should be an English aristocrat with perfect pronounciation for it to understand. Interestingly, you could say "I love you" to any team mate, which it would recognise most of the time. It wasn't useful, but it was pretty amusing for a while. The team mates could also lose their trust on you for example if you fired at them too many times, and ignore orders. The enemies were robots, and you could shoot their body parts off. A robot without legs is stil dangerous. Sadly it turned out to be a pretty bad game.
For the little while I followed the Arma 3 video, voice commands seemed to work well. That should help to get immersed in the game.

...I guess I should be an English aristocrat with perfect pronounciation for it to understand... The voice recognition industry-wide has had a long development period. For over a decade, it has been utter crap. It was absolutely not worth the effort no matter how well you pronounced english. I am, however, impressed with the ArmA 3 integration. Well, at least the first video I watched. The NPCs seem to respond really well. It is to the point that I would even like to try it.

Note: Known issue is still not addressed by installing the "Wife Expansion Pack."
