Sooner than you think our good old games might not be controlled with a controller, keyboard or a mouse anymore. The next big thing is virtual reality where you do the moving yourself (much like with Xbox 360 Kinect) and with a special headset, all you see around you is the virtual reality.

If this doesn't revolutionize gaming, then nothing will. Of course this is just the first generation of virtual reality devices. If this catches on, the headset will become smaller and someone will find a good way for moving around realistically. Maybe in the future we'll just lay down on a chair and plug our consciousness into the virtual reality...
Just imagine any first-person game controlled like this. I can already see the numerous accidents caused by people crashing into their furniture and walls while avoiding bullets in a game. ;D Just think what could games like Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon and Arma be with this. You really do get to peek around corners and hide behind objects youself. While sneaking around and preparing to breach a door, you can just count down with your fingers, open the door with your hand, your friend throws a flashbang and you both go in.
I can see some problems already, unfortunately. What if you climb up? That would surely be disorienting. How would you climb on top of a box? How would it be represented in-game, and how do you do it in the real world? What if you have a broken leg or if you are in a wheelchair? How would handicapped people play games? Right now anyone can be a part of an elite soldier team. With this virtual reality you'd need to be fit to play for long periods of time. If you have weak knees, you can't crouch for long periods of time. Would people still play at nights with this technology? What if you walk against a wall in the VR?
If the problems get solved and the tech gets better, it could possibly make games ten times more interesting.
