DICE, Give us a PROPER sequel and not a BFBC2 in a dress.
A proper Battlefield 2 sequel should be an enhancement and not a stripped to the bones FPS. Battlefield Veterans should not have to beg for the basic core features. Why would a BF2 sequel have more Bad Company 2 features?
- Linear map
- Frontal assault meat-grinder
- Rush
- Ski masks
- 4 kits
- 4-man squads
- Regenerative health
- No LAN support
- No mod tools
- No bot training on multiplayer maps
- ?Battle Recorder?
- No Commander
- No coordination of squads
- Failed socialize "Q"
- Everyone issues orders
- Little map to view
- 3D spotting
- Kill streaks
- Outrageous point system (1,000 points every 20 seconds)
- Award every 5 seconds
- Promotion every 10 seconds
- Your player is yelling and you can't hear it
- Fluorescent pastel HUD
- One non-functional VoIP channel
- One big ammo pull
- Unlimited stamina
- Built for consoles
Where have all the Battlefield 2 features gone?
- Big maps
- Flanking with tactics
- Conquest
- Uncovered faces
- 7-kits
- 6-man squads
- Medic & supply crates provide healing
- LAN support
- Mod tools
- Bot training on multiplayer maps
- Battle Recorder
- Commander
- Coordination of squads
- Commo Rose
- Leaders issue orders
- Big interactive map
- Spot visible on mini-map
- No kill streaks
- Reasonable point system (One Kill equals one point)
- Award after working toward a goal
- Promotion every 3 to 4 weeks
- You hear your player yell
- Non-fluorescent normal colors
- Two functioning VoIP channels
- Ammo separated into magazines
- Stamina limits
- Built for PCs

What else does DICE have to show us?
- Armor vehicles full of cement
- Helicopters flying like a Christmas ornament
- Regenerative health for vehicles
Can anything positive be said?
- Removal of Bunny hop and Dolphin dive
- Improved Graphics, Audio, & Destruction
What happened to TEAMPLAY?
And “Yes,” we have been sold-out so EA can go after COD market share. They are catering to the C4.
C4 = Casual COD Console Crowd
BF3 SHOULD be about teamwork. Someone should probably tell DICE. They appear to be leaning more toward the infamous "everyone" concept.
Teamwork - ............... individualism
Specialization - ....... all powerful
Organization - ......... chaos
Leader Positions - ... everyone leads themselves
Communication - ...... silence
Cooperation - ............ you're on your own
Dependence - ............ i don't need anyone's assistance
Team - ......................... lone wolves
Hhmmm, which way should this one go?
Battlefield - call of duty

... Here's ... a way too look at it. 1+1=2, that much we can all agree on. Now, these numbers can be taken and used in complex calculations. Having said that, through it all, they will retain their inherent value. Similarly, the majority of Battlefield veterans look at squad leader, commo-rose, Commander etc, as values which can be changed by some addition or subtraction, as long as these core features retain their inherent value.
Improving on an already refined set of features is always welcomed. That is evolution. What BC did however, is take what was already refined and removed it's core. The experience is akin to taking a bite from an apple, only to find out that all the good stuff is gone, and what you're left with is just the skin. We don't want a carbon copy. What we want is for the game to move forward whilst keeping it's core essentials.
