wobbly, I thought you might like this thread.
Wow, that took much longer than expected. I thought you would be all over this topic within hours, wobbly. I hope for the good of this clan and the Battlefield Community that has a BF2/BF2142 commander, squad leader, integrated VoIP, and commo rose.
Unfortunately, all indications point toward another release focused on the 4-Cs (Casual Call of duty Console Crowd). I hope DICE got the message of disappointment from the Battlefield Veterans. Although, the COD money signal was likely too powerful to hear the crys of DICE's decade long fans.

I hope DICE got the message of disappointment from the Battlefield Veterans. Sadly Scriv, I don't think DICE give a f@*k as long as the dollars come rolling in. As for the message from BF Vets, well it must have been the biggest outcry in gaming history. I know DICE lied to us about BF3 being a true sequel to BF2 and I totally understood your disappointment and anger at the time. I just rolled over and accepted BF3 for a sequel to BC2 and admired the technical achievement. I just thought 'well this is it, just make the best of it' ;D 2143 is a worry. I can't see how it would work without a Commander (well, unless there are no Titans)  The Commander would do his normal job of directing the team below, as well as moving the Titan around the map. Ideally the Titan would end up in the best position in relation to the enemy Titan giving your team an advantage. I know the futuristic setting does not appeal to many, but it opens up great possibilities. Anything goes, pod transport, stealth suits, floaty vehicles, you name it. Anything can be explained and accepted as being in the future. Like in Planetside2 the day/night cycle is about an hour because it is a small fast rotating planet  Because of this, 2142 had so many clever ideas it made the game great fun to play. I will be watching 2143 very closely !! |
