I say avoid this game. At some point in development the developers were told to make the single player mode more like all modern shooters: bland, boring, having men to shoot at. Yes, you are killing men who are carrying rifles in this game. So the single player is basically a CoD-ripoff while the multiplayer is like a Left 4 Dead-ripoff. The game was in development for years and I guess directions were changed constantly whenever a command from high up came.
So once again, a bad Aliens game was made. The first two Aliens vs Predator games from the early 2000's are the best.

The speech was very motivating.
If I had a dollar for everytime I was told I can't die without permission.

Borrowed it,beat it nothing special. Did like the Gung-Ho speeches which kept me motivated to finish. Worth it for the trophies.

Can you get anything with the trophy points? On the Xbox, you don't do anything with the gamerscore gained from the achievements. Some Ubisoft titles include Uplay, which keeps track of points gained from all sorts of challenges, and you can unlock in-game stuff like different armor, weapons or even new game modes with that system.

Oh, I was hoping you could get something cool for the points. Well, if it's fun to get the trophies, why not.

Perhaps, Natural Selection 2 would be a better choice:
