Let's see the level of participation for DayZ. What can we expect when the day of release finally arrives?

I voted "Yes." It would be great to get everyone in the clan playing the same game for a period of time.

I voted "not sure" because I'm not certain if I'm buying it or not. If it's as buggy and difficult to manage as the mod, I don't think I will. Arma 3 will have Steam integrated, making updating much, much easier. I don't know about Day Z standalone. It' just such a hassle updating all kinds of different programs and games at the moment just to play one mod.
I'll be reading previews, reviews, watching videos and hearing about it from clan members before deciding if I will buy it.

The DayZ Standalone will be a Steam release. Patches and hotfixes will be done through Steam. DayZ Development Team by Rocket 28 NOV 2012 "Release will be on steam, using many of steams key features such as delta patching, VAC, server browsing technology. Patches to steam can be deployed by the click of a button in our build pipeline thanks to new technology developed by Steam, that is making our process extremely easy and exciting. We are very pleased that Steam is working with us so actively to make DayZ a great game and supporting us with quality features. I met many at the team at Valve at PAX, and really want to get them playing the game and getting their feedback to help in development. In using Steam for authentication, distribution, server browsing, etc… we are able to tap into their awesome resources in terms of scalability. The only hardware we then need to manage is the central database, which we already have some experience managing thanks to the DayZ mod. This means we can work towards avoiding the usual launch problems, by relying on the experience of Steam." A: Daily/weekly. Pushed through steam as delta updates (<3 you steam!)" Source: spartanwf.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=dayz&thread=1668&page=2#12090DayZ Development Team by Rocket 25 JAN 2013 "Closed Test Status We have begun our internal closed testing (yes!) and have been working with Valve to ensure our new server browser system is working (we utilize Steam for this purpose rather than Gamespy as for ArmA2). The Server/Client architecture needs to be fully implemented before we will begin our public testing." Source: spartanwf.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=dayz&thread=1668&page=2#12096

I'm happy with it being a steam released game as it will make life easier and VAC anti cheat works well so that should help deal with hackers! Also it will encourage more people in the clan to get it as it will be one easy download!

Now I'm a bit more likely to buy it.

I have voted 'Yes' I prefer a faster paced game, but I did enjoy the total change of direction with the ArmA2 DayZ mod. Unfortunately I had so much trouble running it I gave up an removed all ArmA2 related stuff from my PC Hopefully the stand alone should eliminate all the previous problems, so I will be giving it a shot ;D

I voted not sure, what is tempting me is that a lot of you guys are playing DAYZ and I enjoy being part of a team. I just have a very poor attention span for slow paced games and am not sure it will be suited to me.

Can't wait for DayZ standalone, it should be amazing. Especially looking forward to the new UI -- can't wait to see how that turns out.

Can't vote from my iphone but I'm unsure.
I will likely purchase either ArmA3 or DayZ depending on which is most popular within the clan.
