I found this list of guides and tutorials. Something interesting I learned from an Engineer video (by LevelCapGaming) on this list is the ability to turn your turret into an ammo dispenser. I have never used mines because they replace the ammo pack in the loadout. I will now! www.planetside-universe.com/showthread.php?t=53498

After watching the video in the previous post I thought I would tell how successful this approach is. Playing as Engineer I now have the full range of Mines, C4 and Anti Personnel mines.(don't ask how many 'certs' this cost) You can only use one at a time, so this is how I approach defending a position: Spawn in at a base that is about to be attacked. Look at the map and place a way-point on a likely approach for the enemy. (you can do this before you spawn in if you prefer) Equip with anti tank mines. Move out and place the mines along the approach.(cover 3 poss routes at your way-point) Return to the weapon console and equip with C4. Move out and place C4 on top of your mines.(this virtually converts each mine into x3) Return to the weapon console and equip with 'Bouncing Bettie's'(AP mines) Move out and place (both) BB's at capture point. Return to weapon console and re equip with mines or BB's, but hold on to them. (mines are usually the first to go) Move out to the capture point and 'camp' (I mean defend) ;D When the killing starts re equip as required ;D The pic shows a good session but is light on mine kills. Normally the AT mine kills are up with the BB's. Oh! and of course my trusty 'Cyclone' ;D Bear in mind I normally achieve these results as 'Lone Wolf' This score sheet is me defending a position on my own. Imagine a group doing the same

Looks like you are doing something right This works best when your team are being pushed back, so you lay the traps for an advancing enemy. It is more difficult if your team are pushing forward. You then have to get behind enemy lines and lay the same traps for enemy reinforcements moving up to the front. Also, it is not always win win If the enemy are in huge numbers, they will just steamroller through you.

As an experiment, I have created two extra characters on Waterson. One for TR and the other for VS!!
The reason for this is to check out the oppositions weaponry, and to confirm if a player can succeed without paying and cash.
I discovered a couple of interesting things doing this:
My NC wobblyO1 membership carries over to ALL characters. Just log in for each character and collect all those passive cert points!
All camos acquired can be used for any character created. Phew, that's handy.
The cert situation does give me an advantage, but I will refrain from buying any weapons etc.
This is just a fun exercise, my heart will always remain with the NC.
