- Recommend starting programs in this sequence:
your email application, Xfire, TeamSpeak, put antivirus in game mode (if applicable), and log onto BF2 (or use Xfire to launch BF2 [see "Use Xfire to Join a BF2 Server"]). - You can "Tab" "Alt" to get out of BF2, it will still be running and be minimized. To re-enter BF2, click on the BF2 application on the bottom tool bar. - The primary method of communication throughout the gathering will be TeamSpeak, Xfire will be the alternate, and your email will be used only as a fall back form of communication.
- Once in-game, we will use TeamSpeak and/or the integrated VoIP in BF2. There may be issues with some players having their computer or bandwidth overloaded by all the open applications. If that is the case, the email then TeamSpeak should be shut down. This leaves Xfire and BF2 running throughout the gathering. In rare occasions, you may need to shut down Xfire. There are also instances when the BF2 VoIP is unusable due to the quality of the voice communications. Be flexible.
- Please, be patient. It can be cumbersome to get folks from all over to get up and running with all these applications. - Make sure you have all the clan frequented servers saved as favorites in BF2 to expedite your entrance on the game server of choice.
