Some of us are using Fraps. There is another option for DayZ and other games .... Xfire
Launch the Xfire application and then use the following keys for:
Screenshot: Scroll Lock + S
Video: Scroll Lock + V

Is it just me or does the game start lagging a lot when recording with XFIre? I've tried it numerous times, but even with the oldest games and newest computer using XFire for recording means I'll have to withstand an enormous amount of lag. Even with Ghost Recon. You can check my XFire page to see what I'm talking about.
Using the in-game recording in Planetside 2 hasn't affected my game in any way. But I don't know where the saved videos are. I'm using Steam for Planetside 2. Speaking of Steam, I believe it has a video caputure option, which I haven't tried yet. I've used Steam's screenshot feature a lot though.
Fun facts: pressing S makes your character go backwards in Ghost recon (and in most other games) and pressing V turns on/off night vision. That explains why most of my GR videos start with me turning NV on and off.
