I think all of us are going to focus more or less on one single class and upgrade it more than the others. I've been using the combat medic more than the others, because I'm more useful reviving and healing than plain killing with the other classes. The class's primary weapon is the Gauss rifle, which has a long range, high damage and the recoil is pretty easy to compensate, making it a very good weapon for firefights on all ranges. I got the LX Tacti-Eye (3.4x) attachment for it, and it fits perfectly for me. It doesn't zoom too much for close-range combat but still zooms enough for medium-longish-range.
Here's what I've upgraded for the Combat Medic:
Gauss Rifle - LX Tacti-Eye (3.4x) Other - Medical Applicator level 3/6 - Nano-regen device level 3/6 - Nanowear armor level 2/5
The Medical Applicator is a tool found from the third slot in the inventory, and can be used to revive and heal team members.
The Nano-regen device is the Combat Medic's special ability, used with the F key. It heals both the user and people around him. With each level, the process gets faster and better; revived allies get more health, range increases.
Nanowear armor can be bought for almost every class, I believe. It gives you more health. First level gives 10%, the second 12,5% and the last one 25%. The price for the last one is very steep: 1000 credits, and you have to buy the previous levels first. The first two are just 11 credits in total.
What about you? Which class/classes are you focusing on? It doesn't matter if more than one people use the same class, but diversity is good and needed when playing with many Spartans, possibly driving in an armoured convoy. Medics and enginners are definitely needed, and having more than one of both would be good. Heavy Assaults with their anti-tank weapons are also very useful. Light assault isn't a very good class in my opinion, as its guns fit only for close combat and the jetpack doesn't sound very useful. Play the class you like to play, I'm not forcing anyone to do anything against their will.

Well for those of you who know me well, you already know what class I'm going to be focusing on.
Yep, it's whichever class has the sniper rifle; in this case, the Infiltrator.
On the new server I do not have it upgraded much yet, but it won't take too long to become a driving force on the battlefield.

The new server? I hope you are talking about Waterson.

I'm enjoying Engineer at the moment. Useful for repairs (including the Max class soldier) ammo resupply and a powerful deployable gun position. I will try all the classes over time, but it is Engineer for now

I finally got to level 10, which means I can start spending certs on squad leader unlocks. I've been saving ever since I bought that scope and some other stuff, so I had well over a hundred certs to use. I bought the squad objective marker and the squad spawn beacon. I still have 82 certs. Calling in continent-wide support costs 200 certs, but would probably be very useful. Squad leader channel wouldn't be that useful with the condition of the voice chat in the game and with us being on Teamspeak anyway. There are five (?) rally point markers, 50 certs each, all of them of different color.
The thing with the spawn beacon and rally point markers is that all players can see them, including enemies, and they can get destroyed. There is also a three-minute cooldown for squad members spawning on the beacon, but it can be upgraded to be shorter.
All classes, except MAX and Infiltrator, who can get AP mines instead, can unlock C4 for 200 certs. With a 500 cert upgrade you could carry two! The prices are incredibly high, but it should be for a reason: C4 should be devastating against armor and infantry.
What do you think I should unlock next? I could start saving certs again if I have to. I'm playing as combat engineer MEDIC 90% of the time. Which would be the most important upgrades? The default assault rifle kicks ass on all ranges and I have a 3.4x scope on it. There's no reason to buy a new gun (the prices are outrageous anyway) or a foregrip as the recoil is manageable already.

Do you mean Combat Medic Al ?
As far as unlocks go it depends how you like to play.
Playing as Engineer I have concentrated on increasing the repair tool effectiveness and the ammo time and radius. The weapon and armor upgrades can come later.
If I was Medic I would go for the revive/heal upgrades Al.

Yes. I meant combat medic.
It was so obvious that I didn't understand it: of course I should focus on upgrading healing powers. The medic class actually has two medic powers; the medical applicator and the ability that heals both you and anyone nearby. The catch is, you can't revive with the magical ability and can't heal with the medical applicator.
I almost forgot: you can get a very useful upgrade for the medic, which automatically heals anyone IN the same vehicle as you. So it's not like in BF2 where they would heal anyone outside of the vehicle. With this ability I could turn a Sunderer into an ambulance!
Wow, I've made over 600 posts in about a year!

I'm actually number four on the top posters list: spartanwf.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=members&view=topI even beat Scriv, and the mysterious Swfwebmaster is leading by far... From the current members, I have the second most posts on this forum. I'm not bragging with pointless statistics but rather wondering how did I get to post this many times in such a short time. I'm beating many long-time members here. But I've learned from my mistakes and instead of writing 100 pages of text every time I post, I only post 99.

Predominantly I think it will be the Light Assault and use the Engineer when required. I've really enjoyed not having to take the stairs , the jet packs get you to some great vantage points.

Be careful or you'll get exhausted from just walking to the fridge if you keep using your jetpacks! I can imagine mothers in 2060's saying that to their children.
I got the C4 for the medic. It cost 200 certs and gives me only one. If I put in 500 certs, I'll get another one. As if that wasn't enough, you need to resupply at the infantry stations and use "infantry resources" (not an official term as far as I know) to resupply. It's just like how you need to use "vehicle resources" to spawn vehicles.
We did some testing of its strenght with rache and a Lightning tank. Rache repaired the tank after each test while I was resupplying. It seems as if it does about 90% damage from any side. We tested side, rear, front, top and bottom damages. The rear damage had to be tested twice as the first time resulted in about 10% damage. The second time it was 90%, which sounds more right. I don't know if the damage is exactly the same from all directions, but it should be pretty close.
C4 usage instructions: Right click to thow (it will stick to surfaces), left click to push the button on the detonator to make the C4 explode. A lot like Battlefied. We should test the range of the detonator somehow. The classic "jihad jeep" is possible to do, at least in theory.

Wobbly and I got flash grenades for the light assault, which is currently my favorite class. It has about a 5 meter radius and completely turns your screen white (except for HUD icons) for 5 seconds. It should be very good for breaching & clearing rooms. Throw a flashbang through the window, wait a second and rush in from two sides at once, killing all the enemies while they are blinded.
The flash grenade costs 200 certs and it replaces the frag grenade. Resupplying both types of grenades cost 75 infantry resources, which you gain automatically. You only get one at a time so throw carefully!
