The Project Reality Single Player team have put a lot of time and effort into a new release and hope you enjoy it as much as the development team. So if your up for large scale battles with AI-comrades, going away on business or pleasure with no Internet connection, or want Coop missions with your buddies, don't hesitate to download the newest addition to Project Reality by going here (Announcement was posted on 15 Dec 08 at 3:03 p.m.). www.realitymod.com/Let us know what you think.

I was going to suggest using this for Co-op SWF training against bots, but lo and behold it's a fairly large download, so it's probably too much to ask. I intend to use this to work on moving target shooting for all kits and jets--which I've gradually been managing to land more and more. I'll let you know if it's any good.

In all honesty I spent most of my time shooting my own team from long range. There aren't any maps with jets, but I did some heli practice, took out some targets.
I found it fairly difficult to shoot a lot of the weapons. The sniper rifle, for example, probably should be kept entirely out of the urban environments. It takes something like 5 seconds of absolutely no movement to get an accurate shot. The marksman rifle is quite a bit better, 2 seconds for a solid shot. The other scoped rifles have horrible accuracy, but if you steady them you might get a respectable shot.
Anyway, what I'm saying is that shooting at live targets (be they friendly bots or hostile enemies) gives you a much better taste of the shooting aspect of the game. In Project Reality Single Player (PRSP) you get more of a chance to shoot and there's much less focus on moving around stealthily. My advice? Set your gun to single-fire and don't pat yourself on the back until you can hit the head with 25% of your shots.

milk's idea sounds good. if someone could set-up a server with this on, (maybe on their home comp, with a good internet connection as a temporary server, as and when needed, password protected), it would be a good way for players to learn the basics of PR before going against human players in the real thing.

Sounds like an excellent training idea.

Single player is only 588MB total, online play is 2.62GB. I'm not 100% sure if you need the larger to play, but the download of both is well worth it.
