I'm not sure if these are great tips but they sure helped me get the basic commander badge the first tim i played as commander.
1. Hide in a secure spot where you are unseen. This will prevent you from dying and help you just keep the commanding thing up all the time instead of moving around.
2. Scan often. The scan thing lods pretty fast so scan often to know where to fire your artillery.
4. Use the UAV to help your teammates. I am not sure but if you use the UAV and your team gets a few kills within the UAV's range, i beleive you get some points for that. I like to scan before I put up my UAV to check where it is needed.
5. Use the engneer kit. I use the engineer kit because if someone blows something up none of your other teammates are going to fix it so I take the liberty and do it myself.
6. Drop supplies and cars in areas where you think it is necessary. Unless the team calls for it then drop it there. I mean if your in a heated battle and need run out of ammo, you aren't going to call for the supplies. By the time they get there your gonna be dead. So I like to be Santa Clause and drop presents for my teammates.
