In light of my other thread...how do you do this as commander?
For those who don't know, there is a little bug that allows commanders to spot someone on the map that are not in their line of sight.

It is not a bug. It's his job. One of his responsibilities is to spot. The most effective way to spot is obviously the UAV.
Work the Commander assets in this sequence: Scan, UAV, then Arty
Bonus: supply crate and vehicle drops (not as frequent)
The spotting can be accomplished four ways:
In commander mode by having pushed the "Caps Lock"
1) Scan then right click the red dots and select the second from the top "Spot" 2) Those enemy leaving UAV coverage right click them and select spot 3) Click the map to select the desired location to look, use you scroll wheel to zoom all the way in, right click the enemy then select spot
In first person mode
4) Just like everyone else. Aim at the enemy, hit the "Q" key, then hit the left mouse button

Also if a squad it coming to a flag, you can do that Right-Click>Spot ... spamming it a few times over the area to pick up anyone that might be there, if ur UAV is down. This can be quite useful to your team, but make sure not to abuse it because as you may know it sends a messege out, and will piss your teammates if they dont see the benefit.

Yes as ares says it can get really annoying.
I have a nice sound card in my PC and because of this I can hear details that are not normally heard. I can hear someone trying to sneak up behind me, or a tank moving behind a hill. I cannot hear anything however if someone is shouting in my ear: "ENEMY SPOTTED, ENEMY SPOTTED, ENEMIES ON THE MOVE, ENEMY SPOTTED, ENEMIES ON THE MOVE, ENEMY SPOTTED, ENEMY SPOTTED, ENEMY SPOTTED, ENEMY SPOTTED, ENEMIES ON THE MOVE, ENEMY SPOTTED" etc etc etc
It becomes more than a little annoying and yes it does piss me off!

One thing to note is that after the commander does a scan and the enemy troop are little red dots, if the commander spots them they do not show up on the teams map. You have to wait until the dots are gone from the scan to spot them.

Yep, but at the same time ... if you have a commander that knows WHEN to spam it ... like if ur coming up to a flag, and they pop off 3 or 4 and end up spotting the enemy .. I think its forgiven. But you gotta make sure to read the text when ur doing it incase someone is getting pissed about it haha.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I never realized this as I see it happening so little I thought it was't part of the repitoire of a commander. Thanks for the info, I'll do a better job of this in the future!
