1. Go to the menu bar on the top and click on "Settings" then "Options." Make sure that your headset is selected for "Input Device and Output Device" (in some cases the input/output needs to be your sound card).
2. Go to the menu bar on the top and click on "Settings" then "Input/Output Settings." Select the "Push to talk" option. Decide which key on your keyboard you want to assign to "Push to talk". Make sure it is NOT a commonly used BF2 programmed key. Click the "Set" button and then press the key on your keyboard that you want to assign. Some keys function better than others. For example, a letter key may cause a continous chimming noise if used to activate the talk feature. Some folks need to designate a function key like "F9".

Quick question, what key do you find best for teamspeak? Im using F8 at the moment but I find it difficult to get up to it quickly, for instance to warn of incoming enemies. The 'B' key that BF2 uses is great but I use that when playing BF2 and not using teamspeak, also its close proximity to 'V' (Commander) is usefull Any ideas? interested in what you find best. =SWF=Angrytom_ass

I use the F9 key. For my keyboard if I used a letter or symbol on the main portion of the keyboard, I get a repetative chime while I hold down the key to speak.
I like the idea of having the commo keys together for easier access. Some people use the number pad to program TS channels, usually on the right side of the keyboard.
Another option, yet to be researched, would be a foot pedal for comms. I am usually already using both hands during the game to fight, fly, or drive. I think the foot pedal would be the best option.
I may get a new keyboard and an additional programable key pad of some sort in the future.
I am open to suggestions.

I'm using the INSERT key since I use the arrow to cruise around the battlefield. I just have to yank my finger up to it but still can maneuver. I've thought about using my mouse button 3 or 4 but opted to use those to switch between weapons (weapon 3 and 4).

The "Insert" key is the default "Vote Yes" key.
The "Delete" key is the default "Vote No" key.
The "Page Up" key is the default "Affirmative" key.
The "Page Down" key is the default "Vote Negative" key.
If you are using the insert key to talk on TeamSpeak, what are you using to vote?
By the way, how do you initiate a mutiny? I was on a server within the last week. I was commanding and a Spec Ops teammate (punk) was hunting me down and trying to kill me. I did not attempt to be the commander the next round, but the punk took the job for the next round. A mutiny attempt had not been a concern until then.

The mutiny button is the same as the button that you apply to be commander, it changes from 'apply' to 'Mutiny' after somone is commander. =SWF=Angrytom_ass

I'm using the PU and PD buttons to vote in order to free up those keys. Never has a problem with that before.

The mutiny button doesnt show up sometimes, which bothers me because a bad commander is like having no commander at all which pisses me off.

I find the best button to use for team speak is the middle mouse button, alot of people are using the F number keys wer as if you use the middle mouse button you dont have to take your hand off the mouse or your directional keys and you dont need to look down to find the right key to talk. It is quick and you can still run around and fight with ease

Be courteous to your fellow Spartans and ensure you are "Push-to-Talk"
