Folks are starting to play the Armor Kill expansion pack. Let's hear what you think about the new maps and in-game features released with this recent addition.

At the moment I like the new maps but it has a bad company 2 feel to it. I'm undecided about the armoured superiority mode only because there are simply not enough armour for everyone and there is no mobile arty.
I much prefer it in the rush mode although the use of the gunship in this mode can destroy a side by itself, allowing the attacking team to have an unfair advantage with it and armour and an a10. The defending side has 1 jet and some armour. The only AA to speak of is the hand held type and with two positions in the gunship that can release chaff(why can the gunship have two chaff positions and the helo only one?), it can be quite difficult to down the gunship and boy can that take some damage.
I think the maps are great and was saying last night that they were a game changer but upon reflection maybe they will get old very fast, what with people complaining about the night time map being blueish/the gunship being op and there being very few vehicles for 64 player maps.
But having said that and with what I said earlier, I really like the rush side of it and maybe this is where the longevity of the game will be.

I've only played two maps so far. The first was the mountain snowy map (Alborz). My first thought was 'jeez, this map is massive' Vehicles everywhere and loads of flags which are well spaced. The second was the desert map (Bandar) which is even bigger !!
Both were busy servers and things were a bit chaotic al la Gulf of Oman. I will still look for 32/48max player servers.

I like the desert map I got a SOFLAM set up with 1 support man and 2 javelins and all I did was spot targets.
The Tank destroyers are lame.Should be MBTs and IFVs IMHO.
I enjoy the gunship and the ability to parachute from it.

Just had a round on Armored Shield and Death Valley. They are great maps. AS is like Harvest (I think) on BC2 but bigger and better. DV is the dark map (it is blueish Aus) but I like the map.
So far I prefer the other three maps over Bandar. Early days yet, I've only played a round or two on each.

I played AK a bit on the Xbox in the weekend. Not enough to base a final verdict upon, but here's my thoughts and experiences: - the available are in Rush was too small on one map I played Rush on. - the AC-130, along with tank destroyers, were base raping the defenders on Rush. - the quad bike was insanely fast. The old BC2 tactic worked: blaze through the enemy territory, hop out of the quad bike and sprint to the M-Com while the ATV crashes through a fence. - I got lost following the wrong road in Rush. I ended up being on the opposite corner from the M-Coms. The only way to look at the full map on console is to press start, which brings up the menu as well and pauses the game. - I played Conquest on some maps. In Bandar Desert everyone took a vehicle for themselves in the beginning and I was left with nothing. You'd think there would be enough vehicles for everyone, but no. I'm assuming on PC there are more vehicles. - Didn't get to see much of the maps yet. - I liked the ability to parachute straight down from the circling AC-130 (if your team had it). You could time your jump so you'd be above a specific target. - didn't get to use the mobile artilley, though I saw someone using it. - the usable cannons in the AC-130 are really powerful against armored targets. Then again, the plane gets shot down pretty fast when the enemy jets and helicopters shoot at it. - You don't need much XP to unlock stuff. A good thing in my opinion.
I'll have to play more so I'll at least get to see the whole maps.
