What are the major different points between PC and console versions?
I know # of players.
This is a great console game for MP blows away MW3.
I can see why PC folks felt shafted.I was disappointed there was no MEC faction. It is not the same shooting Russians in Karkand.
Bring back MEC!
The knife kills are too easy IMO.BF2 you really had to earn a knife kill.
I would like to know as a equipment upgrade is in the future and I would rather spend the money on Arma 3 and not on a game that is a console port.

What are the major different points between PC and console versions? I can't help you with this psyco, never played the console version. I'm a bit biased here because I love BF3 so much ;D Half of us like it, the others not. I would wait for the 'Armored Kill' expansion and see what the guys think. The maps are huge (yes the biggest BF maps yet), and there will be some interesting tank battle modes.

I could help you out with this one once I get BF3 installed for PC. I have it for the Xbox as well, just haven't played it much.
I do know that the player limit is bigger on PC (64, on consoles just 24) and that aiming should be better with a mouse than with a gamepad. You could argue about mouse vs gamepad, but let's just leave that out, shall we? The graphics should be better on the PC thanks to DX11 stuff.

PC: Graphics are better. Controlls are better. Sound is better. (depends on your sound card of course) Server browser is better.
Console: Less expencive. Easier to set up.
Other than that it's all the same.

............ and you do get to play with grown ups on the PC BF3 is very quiet no one really chats. MOH,MW3 some folks don't STFU. I hate MW3 very overated MOH is fun. Sandstorms in SPEC-OPS The Line is fun as is causing avalances of sand to bury snipers.Gets old quick, my 2 I play are MOH and BF3. I do need to try the OFP games next.

Operation Flashpoint? There are some major differences between the new and the old Flashpoints. The first ones (Cold War Crisis, Resistance, Elite) were created by Bohemia Interactive, who later developed the Arma series. At some point Codemasters gained the rights for the Operation Flashpoint franchise (which explains why Bohemia is selling OFP1 as Arma: Cold War Crisis and the second one as Arma: Resistance nowadays) and made Operation Flashpoint: Red River and Dragon Rising. Those have pretty much nothing to do with the original Flashpoint, they just used the name like the trend is in the gaming business today. They also have console versions, which explains a lot.
I tried the PC demo for Dragon Rising (or maybe it was Red River) There was almost no recoil and it's not a realistic simulation like Arma; instead it's an arcade game with big maps. The commanding user interface was clearly made for consoles and wasn't very intuitive. It was shaped like a plus sign or the D-pad on console pads. In theory it should work fluidly but it doesn't. I thought it was going to be like the commo rose in BF but unless my memory is failing it actually used WASD for that, making you have to stop to issue orders.
I guess the two new OFP games could be fun to play on a console with friends (I think split screen co-op campaign for up to 4 players is supported), I mean there aren't many games on consoles with big open maps and vehicles after all. Read some reviews, test the demos, watch gameplay videos, especially if you don't have too much money to spend.

Red River was more arcade like but enjoyable. I felt Dragon rising was the better of the 2.
