So last night after the DayZ server crashed and I lost my new NVGs, I was working on uploading a video of Spartan and I riding around on the ATV we found. I went to YouTube and this forum, and somehow right then, a virus was uploaded to my computer and I had to do a reformat to get rid of it before it did any real damage.
So I'm starting from scratch again, and now it appears the only game that will be installed is ArmA 2 + DayZ, since that's really all I play anymore.
Just thought I would let everyone know.
I just want to know how it got past my Vipre Premium anti-virus + firewall... Very suspicious.

So I'm back up and running now... with ArmA 2/DayZ being the only game installed. I will install more as needed, but until there is actually a meeting for a game, I expect my shelf to be undisturbed.
At least there was no hardware damage.

That was a quick, but painful rebound.

There is no sure thing when it comes to antivirus programs. Software firewalls are a worthless joke. Even with a highly acclaimed program like Vipre you can still get intrusions. The funny thing is that usually the people who get attacked are usually the ones with the hard to crack programs. The harder it is to crack the more someone wants to spend time on cracking it. Hackers are wierd like that. Thats why I use a free antivirus and have no firewalls. When you lock it down like Fort Knocks people want to know what's inside.

Makes sense. Pisses me off, but I totally understand the thought process.
