Interesting, the sandstorms may brew up at any time and may be more or less fierce. I guess it could add some replay value. Or at least make replaying the game less boring. Seems that there is a demo available on Steam. www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/06/15/dubai-or-not-dubai-spec-ops-the-line-demo/And it also seems that the demo doesn't present the full game in the best possible light. I guess Spec Ops: The Line is one of those games that are experiences as a whole and one cannot judge the game based on just one level. The demo basically just shows how it controls and will your computer run it. I have a feeling that this won't be a very good game. There's just something that hints in that direction. I have this image in my head of the development team in a brainstorm session: "All right, we got a really nice cover system in here. But I'm afraid it won't be enough. We need something new, something cool, something that separates Spec Ops from other games." "Hey, I have an idea, let's put in some dramatic decisions!" "Unless anyone has any better ideas, we're going to stick with that." Maybe those dramatic moments are well done, but mostly in gaming it's a cliche. Especially if there's a dramatic moment in every level, a la Call of Duty. It just loses its effect and becomes less dramatic. Moments that are supposed to evoke feelings become dull and boring. But in SO:TL you are in control when bad stuff happens and you can react to it in the way you want. But we'll have to wait and see. Spec Ops: The Line will be released on June 29th in Europe and June 26th in North America. I don't understand why can't it be released everywhere in the same time.

I think the sand will play a factor in gameplay. With luck the campaign will be of decent length.
Some of the story is based off the novella Heart of Darkness.

Isn't the movie Apocalypse. Now based on Heart of Darkness as well? If so, it's pretty interesting how different the environments are. One is in the jungles and one is in the middle of a desert.

after watching the videos I have some to the conclusion that Spec Ops crosses the line from being a decent game to being a polished crap game. I will not be wasting my money on this title.

IGN gave it a 8 out of 10. Seems to be getting positive reviews so far.

remember IGN also gave COD MW3 a 9.5 out of 10 and that game is crap compared to BF3 I agree, ended up picking it up and really liked it. Great story with multiple endings. The voice acting was really good. The soundtrack was great,I recommend renting it if you don't want to buy it. The campaign was short but intense on high difficulty. I did a review on Amazon and it has gotten positive reviews from other gamers.

Does it really have multiple endings? I stopped playing after a couple of levels when it got boring and repetitive. Shoot 100 men, advance, do action, repeat. If it has multiple endings, I might try it again.
Edit: I meant MW3, not Spec Ops: The Line.

www.metacritic.com/game/pc/spec-ops-the-lineA decent score. From what I read from a Finnish review, the gameplay is pretty basic but the story makes up for it. But not much. I'd wait for a sale if I was interested. It doesn't feel like it's worth the price of a new game. Well, at least they tried something different.
