Download and play the marine demo. Survive through the level. I liked this one the most. www.fileplanet.com/45371/40000/fileinfo/Aliens-vs.-Predator---Marine-Demo
Download and play the Alien demo. Attack enemies and destroy equipment.

Download and play the Predator demo and notice how it doesn't work as it should: you can't use different vision modes when not cloaked. This and the fact you can't regain energy easily makes it an extremely difficult experience. This is the only of the three demos I haven't finished.

If you are going to buy it, buy the Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000 version, (made in 2010) which should work better on modern rigs, and it adds things like saving and levels. It's only available from the digital stores of Steam and Onlive. There's also a Gold edition, which is available as a physical copy, though it may not work as well on modern computers. Both of these editions should add voice acting to the game. There are screams and grunts from the creatures in the basic version, but that's it. The dialogue can only be read. And it's necessary to follow the dialogue to proceed.
Play the demos (or at the very least the marine demo) and share your thoughts.
NOTES: if you set the resolution very high, the subtitles will be almost too small to read. Another thing is that if you haven't seen Alien or Aliens, I strongly recommend to watch them. You won't get spoiled for anything else than their looks and their abilities in the game. But that's one of the thrills in the films. If you want to see the movies without knowing absolutely anything, don't play the game before you have seen them.
