Last night I had what I think was one the best experiences I've had on BF3 to date. As some of you might know, I haven't been the biggest fan of BF3 in the past. Most of my time on the servers have been spent running from flag to flag like a chicken with my head cut off, getting bunny hopped and knifed to death, or being shredded by a Viper pilot. Last night however, was different and actually enjoyable. Rache, Lambourne, Tiberains and myself played together as a team, we coordinated what kits we carried, so we had everything covered and stuck together. Instead of racing all over the map and back, we set smaller missions, such as defending or retaking key points on the maps and we had a lot of success. Lambourne had the sniper kit and the MAV, so he acted as spotter for the squad. Rache had support, Tiberains had assault (for revives) and I had AT. We seemed to have whatever we needed exactly when we needed it. Great fun. All right...maybe I won't uninstall it just yet.

Friday 17/2 After a savaging on a Caspian server we later regrouped on Karkand. Can't quite remember who was on so apologies if I leave out any names (beer/age). I was in a squad as medic with tibierains medic, wobbly support and phoenix sniper. After a fragmented start we managed what I thought was a great bit of team play when we left the hotel going left up to the top road that leads to the suburbs. After some initial contact at the top of the road we worked our way along the edge of the map clearing out the buildings and any resistance as we went, with tibierains and I doing our best to keep everyone alive and ammo on demand from wobbly. With the suburbs taken we made our way down the left hand side of the road to the train wreck. Now I've never really thought much of the sniper kit as a team role, more lonewolf. But here phoenix proved its value. Perched behind the raised wall overlooking the train he was able to provide close spawning, spotting and killing threats while we pushed for the flag. We had to work for it but when the train wreck fell we had all the urban side flags and it was just a matter of time before the round was ours. For me, when you have moments like that, it's what being in a clan is all about.

The experience of domination on a map is fantastic. A few weeks ago myself and three other fellow Spartans sat on a hill side and literally picked off the enemy for miles around. A sniper with a SOFLAM, 2 x AT personnel with Javelins, and a support person to resupply all those missiles being fired. After about 5-6 tanks, helicopters and other vehicles were destroyed the enemy was getting wise to what we were doing. Of course this sent the revenge factor into our enemy's heart but with good fields of fire established we were able to hold off most of the attacks while maintaining the destrcutve capability of our outpost. Sniper would lase the targets and conduct counter sniper duties, support would resupply and monitor the most likely enemy avenue of approach, and the 2 x AT personnel would alternate firing their Javelins and watching the most dangerous enemy avenue of approach.
All this was as the U.S. folks fighting on Kharg Island sitting in the high ground just SE of the Outpost "B".
