I purchased a G9x mouse, and installed the appropriate setpoint drivers, but I don't see the configuration panel afterwards. I've uninstalled all previous driver versions, rebooting afterwards and still no config panel. It recognizes the mouse, but no panel. Many have had the same issues with xp Vista and win7. Any ideas short of OS reinstall would be appreciated...

Hey, I've got the same mouse! But I'm not entirely sure if I got what's your problem. Doesn't SetPointII.exe launch the program? ...Wait, is the latest version Setpoint 6? And the installation requires me to delete the previous version, AND reboot the computer. I'll do it tomorrow and see if I have any problems. Anyway, one thing you might want to try is to download and install the Full installer package instead of the Smart installer package. Look right below the red "IMPORTANT" text and see if it works. Note that this is the page for the windows XP version. You didn't tell what your OS is so you'll have to navigate your way to the corresponding version page. www.logitech.com/en-us/428/5092?section=downloads&bit=&osid=1

This all started because I wanted to use my G5 mouse on win 7 64bit. G5 isn't supported in win7, so I installed older versions of setpoint as suggested by others having same problems. I even had old version setpoint(4.80) running in compatible mode and found the config tab ...once... When I set things how I wanted I tried saving and nothing happened. When I ran setpoint again, the config tab was gone...for good. No amount of tampering would work. I know from past experience that logitechs drivers don't play nice with saitek drivers. My other mouse and keyboard have razer technology, so profiles are saved internally. I'm hoof to install setpoint on my wifes laptop to see if I can configure the G9x. I'll let you know what I find. FOR GODS SAKE DON'T TRY TO FIX WHAT AIN'T BROKE! I WOULD SUGGEST LEAVING YOUR SET UP ALONE! DON'T RISK IT, EVEN WITH XP.....

I'm afraid I can't help you then. I have XP and now I'm too afraid to update Setpoint (Setpoint 2 works without a problem, so I guess I shouldn't take the risk).

Sorry to hear you problems McBrag. I have Windows 7 x 64 and have no probs with SetPoint, even after updating.
Mouse is MX518 My Control Centre version is 6.32.7 Driver version 5.33.14
Have you looked in Control Panel/Mouse ? I have a tab, top right for Setpoint settings.
Does Setpoint not cover all Logitech mice ?

As it turns out, Windows seems to have registry problems that many others have run into. In my quest to find a fix, I installed and uninstalled several driver versions, to the point that my Windows can't sort it out. Short of an OS reinstall or playing around in the registry, it ain't gonna happen. When I got home last nite, I plugged the new g9x into my wifes laptop and found the config tab right where it should be. So, simple job of setting up profiles on her machine and I'm good to go. Sorry I got upset about my thread being moved, was a rotten day at work. Now if I can get the BF3 sound loss situation nailed down, ill be ecstatic...

Sounds like you could use a regestry cleaner. I use CCleaner. It can be found on cnet's download.com or at www.piriform.com/. Many regestry cleaners are very invasive and can delete keys or files you need but I have not had that problem with this one. I had to uninstall my Logitch MX Revolution drivers, run the cleaner then reinstall. It still has some compatability issues with older games and teamspeak but it is working much better.

I use CCleaner also Taz. Excellant little free programme. I use it for clearing the crap rather than registry as I have Registry Mechanic from PCTools.
