I'm officially hating this new patch. I'm beginning to wish I hadn't bought BF3. Every time a game comes out, it gets fucked up in a patch. I can't kill anything now. I get killed only to spawn and hit someone with half a clip and have them turn around and kill me. I abhor arcade shooters, and this is what I feel has become of BF3. I'm ready for some arma. How think the rest of you? l

I am hating this new patch as well. I couldn't even join a MP server with a huge selection of reasons offered to me by numerous error codes. I rolled back drivers, did a clean uninstall/install, system restore, repair installs, christ the list goes on. And all because of this new patch.
Anyway long story short, in my quest to find the true BF3 I came across a number of fixes suggested by countless people suffering at the hands of DICE/EA. I disabled Mumble and have had no problems since, touch wood. So just maybe this new patch has caused conflicts with outside communications which is a joke because theirs just dosen't work. There was 3 of us having troubles tonight and once we turned off Mumble there where no further issues to speak of.
So possible fixes could be to turn off XFIRE/MUMBLE or whatever comms squads use until something is found that works. At the moment Ventrillo is working for atleast 4 of us, I don't know about everyone yet as there was only 4 of us on.

I too had a torrid time last night, but I think that was mainly down to bad luck and all the generals being on the opposing side  I'm still getting the 'battlefield has stopped working' when I join the first server then randomly throughout the night. |

I'll join you guys on Arma/pr for the odd game but I do like bf3, yes it's not perfect but it's still early days with patches as is to be expected with pc games. But I don't think we're ever gonna see a good SL command interface like bf2 which is very disappointing. But I do like the hectic infantry maps like Metro and Grand Bazzar.......... maybe I should try MW3 !  |

Before the patch I was saying there was no way I was going to go anywhere near MW3 but after all the hassle I have had these last few days, I'm starting to think that's an option.  I'm looking into reinstalling ARMA again. Like you I really like BF3 but its missing something, I don't know what that is but it is. I know one thing that's missing and that's the intestinal fortitude by DICE and saying no to the nerfing of weapons to all the little girls out there. Things like the G3, its a 7.62 weapon, it should be more powerful than a 5.56. I've seen what a 7.62 does to a human and its not a pretty site, give me back my monster  Cop-u-later |

I am loving BF3, and havn't noticed any change with the patch (though I should have noticed improvements)  As BTTF says, it is early days (not even been out a month yet) All the problems we are experiencing are the same as BC2 when it was released. It will all get sorted.  As far as it being an arcade shooter, yes it is on 'Metro' and 'the tunnel under the hill' one. DON'T PLAY EM ! I joined a 'Jersey Boy' last night who was moaning and cursing. What was he playing ? Hardcore/Metro/Rush !!! The worst combination ! On release we have a small selection of various types of map, two of which we hoped for, Caspian and Firestorm. The Karkand pack will be out soon, and I'm sure more to follow. PS: I still have ArmA2 installed and will join in if anyone fancies a go. Don't give up guys ;D |
