Is this the new commo rose?

I hope it's fake or that the day 1 patch will make it better. What the hell did DICE think when they made this? You still have to point at a medic and press q (default for commo rose is t) to say "I need a medic!" You still need to aim at a support and press q to shout "I need ammo!".

At least there's "Get in!" but "Get out/Jump out/Bail out!" is missing. Oh how much I love the bad pilots that do a backflip with a transport chopper and they can't say "jump out", they physically can't. It doesn't help that there is no way to practice flying in any offline mode.

And what more? There's no "I need repairs!". I could complain about changing the order (affirmative and negative should symmetrically placed), but come on DICE! All they had to do was to copy+paste it from Battlefield 2 and turn it blue. Yet they managed to fail even that.

I really hope they are photoshopped.

It reminds me of playing with a Magic 8 Ball... You know, ask it( the magic 8 ball commo rose) if you're ever going to get ammo or meds.... And it answers: NOT LIKELY...LOL...

there is still lots of rumors and false posts that are photo shopped going around, we will know for sure in the next 24 hours. Mind you that DICE has the ability to hotpatch on the spot to add and change things.

Maybe its a move made for consoles? Maybe lack of buttons on controllers?

Lack of buttons? All you need with a commo rose is a way to point in a direction and click it. It is possible with the console sticks.
I think the reason for this dumbed down version is either a) they want us to use the "social button" to ask for medic or ammo, which we don't since we wanted the commo rose back just so we weren't forced to turn our backs at enemies and find a medic.
b) they made it at the last minute, so even if they had "I need a medic" the medics wouldn't see the icon flashing on top of him and he wouldn't see the medic icons on the map and above medics. It isn't finished. Actually, one of the devs tweeted about it saying it isn't the final version, but soon deleted the twitter post... I didn't see it myself, only the EA UK forum users.

That can't really be the final commo rose.

its NOT the final commo-rose, DICE has already said through their official twitter that Commo-Rose is unfinished, they released it unfinished instead of pushing the game back, its unclear if critical components will be in the Day 1 patch, however they did say that in patches they will be adding more context to the commo rose and promise to make it as good if not better than BF2.



IMPORTANT EDIT: Here is a link from BF3Blog which is another well respected Battlefield fan website that goes back to BF2. In the article it explains that in the Day 1 Patch we can expect to see commo-rose updated.

Well thank goodness it wasn't final.

From what I've understood the social button is q, and by holding q you get commo rose. But how long do you have to hold it? Is it as fast as BF2?

I think its set to a 1-2 second context hold, don't quote me on that though, better ask Demize99 on Tiwtter as he is the lead game designer.

So, consoles won't get a commo rose (which is sad, just today I used the awful social button five times on a medic that was right next to me. Was the guy deaf or something? I was shouting "I need a medic" " I'm f----ing low on health!" "Throw me a medpack!" but the guy didn't even look to my direction. But hey, there's a squad/team VOIP on consoles!), and the commo rose on PC will get patched several times.

I just don't get why couldn't they just have commo-rose on consoles: it could be used by holding either the left or right shoulder button. And the weapons could be selected from a wheel too. Or from the d-pad. The console controllers could perfectly handle the controls, but for some reason they won't include it.

uuuummm, uuuummm those would NOT be the new Commo Rose, I think I just about fell over, while this is fan made, DICE is looking at this for thier ideas to change the UI in an upcoming patch.
