ArmA: Combat Operations or Armed Assault This video game was released in November 2006 is the successor to Operation Flashpoint and developed by Bohemia Interactive (BI), an independent game developer based in the Czech Republic. ArmA is a first person tactical military shooter that aims to replicate the realism of combat in a campaign which takes place on a battlefield measuring 400 square kilometers (about 150 sq miles). It has large scale multiplayer battles with 100+ living opponents on both sides of the conflict. It also has more than 30 weapons and 30 vehicles which include tanks, armored vehicles, helicopters, airplanes, civilian cars, and boats. I just bought a copy of Armed Assault to test out the competition to BF2. ArmA II is due out in 2009: www.arma2.com/

Let me know what you think, scriv. BF2 never matched OF in terms of realism, and the quality of the game play was better than PR--I never even knew they had a sequel. I remember there being some interesting bugs in it and horrible, HORRIBLE voip, but then again OF was made quite a while ago now. Again, I'm very interested in what you think as I had tons of fun playing OF.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, there are different game modes but one of the MAJOR differences between OF and BF2 was that OF had a counter-strike style spawn system (as in, if you die you don't spawn until your whole team dies), and has PC vs. CPU modes which are amazing. For example, you'd be in a 10 man squad and complete a (not joking) hour long mission against 50+ AI in different locations in order to complete an objective. OF also has a great single player mode. So, I'm thinking that ArmA and ArmA2 must be ridiculously good... I'm practically drooling, and my social life is going to go to crap :s
