This game is worth buying. Very good historical context. During the time of Richard the Lion Heart and the ongoing struggle for control of the holy land. The main character, you, are transported back in time from a modern age. You have a jedi brotherhood killing Templars with Batman/Spiderman abilities to rule the roof tops. A visible bodycount of 26 soldiers slain by one assassin.

Sir yes sir.
It looks like I forgot this one when I was writing my thread. I actually have Assassin's Creed 2 on the Xbox. I liked it, but there were some gripes: it got a bit repetitive and I didn't like the future theme at all. You basically play as a guy who is in a machine of some sort and you access his ancestors' memories that are found from your DNA. As far as I know, memories don't get "saved" in your DNA and get passed to future generations. The story would have made just as much or even more sense if it was just set in the medieval/renaissance and didn't jump to the near-future world for a minute or two every once in a while.
This game has a unique sort of stealth: social stealth. You don't hide in the shadows, you don't disguise yourself (usually), but you can just walk along law-abiding citizen like any other man and the guards won't say a thing. But if you are seen jumping on rooftops (you can climb on top of practiaclly any building you see) the guards will tell you to get down.
The main weapon is a hidden blade. A typical scenario in the game would be that a templar is in a courtyard of a building, and the rooftops are full of archers. You can dispose of them quietly and throw them away (in the best case to a hay stack or in to the water) and finally leap on the target with your hidden blade. After that you'll have to escape from the remaining guards.
