Someone asked me that recently, and I just replied "Us(plural U)." Colour / color, parlour/parlor, harbour, harbor. Also, little known fact, but the reason the US accepts "zee" as the pronunciation of the letter "Z" is because it rhymes with "V" and "P". Every other latin-based language and every english speaking country outside of the US pronounces it "zed". Umm... Learned/Learnt(US)..burnt etc. is also only US.

It is no wonder we sometimes take what someone says on the forum the wrong way. There are a lot of small differences that make a huge difference with the languages!! I also sometimes say Zee and other times say Zed. I think we are starting to say a few American words, I do especially as i watch so many shows/movies for the US. Just found another one if it isn't in the list!! We usually say Films you guys say movies, i think?

LOL, this is a great topic!
What I find interesting is how, in such a short period of time our languages have become quite different. The spell checker on the forum is american unfortunatly!

If you are using IE then type into google 'spell checker for IE' and you can download an English spell checker. Just download and install then in the text box right click and click check spelling, it is almost the same as the forum one but i find it easier

Yep.. All of my papers for school need to be written using UK English spelling, but as a technical writer, everything I do for my job requires US English spelling. That's never actually struck me as odd until now.
