I'm really into planetside at the moment, there's something about its scale and the complexity/design of some of the larger bases that keeps me coming back. I do agree with McGuirk and Shaun's comments about the sci fi setting and this was something initially that put me off too, but I stayed for the gameplay which I love. But that is where my dilemma is, I want to play in platoons made up of large squads of like minded players. We currently have an outfit of at best 2. My other and more difficult dilemma is Waterson. While this was rightly the first choice of server for the clan unfortunately we now have only 2 uk players on a server which at the peak time of 8pm onwards is 1am UK time. I have enquired about moving my character to another server but this service is not currently available. I have started a new character on Woodman a European server but unfortunately this means starting from scratch again  which when you have a Rank 52 with hours and about 19 000 certs invested in it is almost unthinkable. My intention is to join an outfit on Woodman to help me get the most from the game to which I have just subscribed for a year. I'll see how it goes but I don't think I'll be using Waterson ( except for clan events ) unless the thought of all those hard earned unlocks becomes too much  |

I see where you are coming from BTTF. The platoon situation (outfit) with SWF1 was basically to get our clan tags seen in the game. I find you can join any outfit in-game and roll with them. As for the server, I think we will be able to transfer our characters soon with an upcoming patch. I have a Terran character on Miller because I wanted to see if the ping was better, but I can't see the difference TBH. Also, PC Gamer mag staff have an outfit and I have been reading about their exploits. Miller seems very even regarding the population, always around 33% each. For the moment I want to stick with my NC guy on Waterson, like you say I am reluctant to give him up (until transfers are available) I am Terran rank 15 on Miller, although I miss playing as NC. What Empire are you playing on Woodman BTTF? I am thinking of moving back to NC. PS: I've not been on much lately because of my house move (and I'm doing a bit of driving) I will be back soon |

I setup a character there when Waterson went down only to find it was an update and Woodman soon followed. Played in an alert last night, control 9 Amp stations, for the duration NC had 7, Vanu 2 and TR nothing all night ! Lol As for transferring, support said they were looking at it as a paid service but no timeline on it. Don't think we'll get it as a patch item any time soon |

Do you fancy starting from scratch as NC (or any faction) on Miller? My Terran guy can go. I have been doing alright without boosts etc. and k/d around 5!

Definitely ! I'll start a new NC character there next time I'm on.
One thing, I noticed I had my camos, presumably because these had been purchased with SC. I've never purchased weapons with SC but are they available to you ?
Also I see you can login and get passive certs on all characters.

OK BTTF, I will start a new NC on Miller. I will post my name........EDIT: have started NC wobblyone again! The camos can be used for all factions and characters including vehicles and weapons Still got my Djinn mask! The weapons also carry over and the certs are awarded to all the characters you create (due to your account) One good thing starting a new character is you do not waste any certs! |

SC purchased weapons carry over ?
I may purchase some in that case so I can at least use them back on Waterson if need be.

SC purchased weapons carry over ? Yep, seems so. I checked them out and all were there inc. vehicle weapons.(weapons are faction specific though) Edit: Rank 4 but no kills yet! I will stick with Engineer I think. |
