It appears I am on the US East Matterson server. I am willing to create other characters to fight on the server.

the someone I mentioned was named freakkrak... and Al, I did get your friend request, and have confirmed it in-game. We will now be able to see each other if we are online at the same time.
It does take a while to level up, and as of now I see no way of moving characters from server to server, so I agree we need to find a way to get everyone happy on the same side and server.

I actually played with Freakkrak yesterday. It begun when we started playing with Scriv (who started a new NC character on Waterson) and tried to find each other. With astonishing luck against all odds Scriv bumped into Wobblyone. What are the odds of being on the same continent? 1/3. What are the odds of finding one man from a map that big? Wobbly then came to Teamspeak, and later Iwazzio and Spartan joined. Even Lambourne came in, and apparently his computer didn't explode from playing this game.
So, in total we had six Spartans on the Waterson server on the NC side. Also on the server are playing Phoenix and Nighshade. Could this be the compromise we're looking for? I think it's just as far (being on the East coast of the US) from me as it is from Iwazzio, us two being the furthest members, (with half the Earth in between us, about 16000 km I believe) and it's almost in the middle of the US and UK guys. I didn't have any lag on that server and didn't hear anyone else complaining either.
I was also thinking that we should create an outfit for Spartans, although I really don't know much about the benefits.

We need to get used to the User Interface U/I and spawn away from the immediate meatgrinder. In the future, we should take the time to figure out the best kit mix for the squad, get everyone in the same squad, and spawn/linkup to move together into battle.
We need to try and get everyone on a US East server. This way the West Coast/Hawaii clan members can fight with the Europe clan members.
The PS2 game appears to have a lot of potential. Tanks, APCs, and aircraft use will assist in making us a mobile strike force. How do you get a vehicle? How do you get a vehicle to spawn-in?
Let's learn how to get all features functional for all of our members and get everyone on TeamSpeak.

How to get a vehicleYou can get a vehicle by accessing a vehicle spawn terminal. They have tank items on the screen. Press E to open the vehicles spawn menu. You need a certain amount of ground resources to spawn a ground vehicle, and the same for air vehicles. I'm not sure if there are naval vehicles in the game. You gain resources if your team holds certain points on the map and they are connected to your main base. Unless I'm wrong, this is correct information. ;D I never thought I'd need to sit down and watch educational videos to play a game properly, but the day has come. Check out the official tutorials explaining everything. I've seen half of them, and they are 5-10 minutes long each. www.planetside2.com/game-tutorials

Thanks for those Al. I didn't understand generators and all of that until I watched the video about it, and now I'm confident that I understand which generators go to which shields and what-not.

I'm glad that at least you understand that. I don't know what's going on in the bases beside the class and vehicle spawns.... I've watched almost all of those tutorial videos. I think they are pretty much a mandatory watch for new players, because the systems aren't explained well/at all in-game. I saved some credits and bought something for the medic class. An Acog-style scope (the second one of the 3.4 magnifying scopes) for the default rifle and a suit upgrade that does something with regeneration. Some of the upgrades only cost 1 credit so why not buy them? I think the scope was a really good purchase, and affordable too, costing 30 credits. That much can be gotten in a few hours. So far the medic has been my class of choice and it's pretty deadly. I'll experiment with the other classes too. I've also noticed some similiarities with the BF3 user interface. The minimap with the squad member names next to it are almost exactly the same as in BF3, and the spawn menu looks the same. But that's where the similiarities end.

A good idea is to spawn at the main base (warp gate). This is right in a corner of the map and is the only facility that is not cappable. It is also protected by a shield so you cannot get spawn killed. What I have been doing is spawning here to check out all the terminals. You can change continent and kit and also choose a vehicle, land or air. Tank up, look at the map for activity then head out using the compass. This way you can familiarize yourself with controls/interface etc. while not being under attack. ;D

www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/12/01/planetside-2025-soes-big-plans-for-the-future/The devs have big plans for the future: - having seamless oceans between continents, effectively making the whole planet seamless - naval vehicles - adding new, partially or completely empty continents where the factions would set the bases themselves and fight for the resources - support until at least 2025 - last but not least: NPC's that can fight and command. I'm not really a big fan of this. I don't feel like NPC's belong to multiplayer games like this. Of course it would add some more tension when presumably all bases would have some sort of defences. But there's just one thing about AI that makes out of the place: it doesn't think or act like a human. They can't replace human places. When I fight a human opponent, I know he he won because he was better, more skilled than me. But if an AI wins, it was just because of a piece of code. Other than the NPC stuff, I liked it.
