Planetside 2 Beta

When will this be released? What are the minimum system requirements? How many players can play online on the same server? (I've heard it's a big amount) How big are the maps? Enlighten us, o wise one.

Looks like its announced Planetside 2 beta will start on the 30th or the 31st cant wait was wondering if anyone else used beta keys or are trying to get into beta?

I have finally got access to the beta. So far am quite impressed, have only played light assault and just got a jet pack which is fun. Map is huge and the game seems quite tactical. Would be interested to see how others are finding the game. Not even sure how to add friends. I am still Madviper101 on this by the way and would definitely be up for a game with other spartans.

I have the beta installed. I ended up driving from my main base in the southeast to the north edge of the map and all the way to the western sector in a tank. The map had an overall impressive size, although, there was a lot of very restrictive terrain.

Should be interesting. Lookin' forward to fighting with a group of Spartans in the Planetside 2 game.

For those that haven't played yet and are thinking of joining there are three empires in this game which you can choose from, and I have sworn myself to the vanu sovereignty(the purple guys-no particular reason why I joined them) . If we are to fight together do we need to be all on the same empire??

Have just been disconnected from a game and appear to have to download the whole game again which is a little frustrating. However it is still a beta.

Scriv, know what you mean about the terrain, recently been trying to stick more to the main roads/paths which helps.

Yes Viper, we all need to be in the same Empire, and on the same server (currently we are using US West) in order to play together.

I'm getting that update as well, seems it is nearly 3.5 gigs in size. Probably just something they missed, and for whatever reason, they needed to re-code the whole thing or something. Who knows.

The full game is supposed to be released on 20 NOV 2012.

- McGuirk will wait until the full game is released to install PS2

- Viper, if you do not mind, it looks like there are already 5 =SWF= as NC. If you could create an NC character that would be great. Thanks!

I wonder will there be any lag for the European players who play on American servers, and if there is, is it severe? I'm worried because US West sounds like it's very far away from me and other Europeans.

How demanding are the system requirements for PS2?

Could pysco and ironside play this free game on their existing systems?

Played with Tiberian the other night on the US West server and the game appeared to be operating fine. However am still a noob.
I think the system requirements are fairly high i5/gtx560 ish level min spec. I can certainly hear my 580 ramping up whilst playing.

I like the sound of this game and i will be getting this when it is released, although after vipers comment I am worried about my systems ability to cope, i seem to have alot of graphic errors atm, so we shall see, i intend to do a complete pc upgrade sometime early 2013
