PR v0.85 Released to the Masses

Its Finally here. for those of us who can use torrents, PROJECT REALITY 0.85 has been released.

Is the downloader offer one of the best?

Can folks offer-up the top three downloaders to give people some options and maybe some extra features?

- The idea of being able to do a partial download, being able to come back a day later, and being able to start where you left-off is very appealing.

- Adding extra speed to the download process would also be a great feature

We want to make this as painless as possible. I know the initial download and installation was very painful and time consuming.

I'd perspnally say that torrents are the best way to download this mod. They offer pausing and resuming. I wouldnt recommend the PR-Downloader. some people have good speeds and can have the mod in 30 mins, but I'm still sat here waiting for it to complete (stuck on 25%), so im going to try torrents again and see if thats any better.

Obviously to download from a website you get better speeds the closer you are to the main server. I'm just in the process of trying it out usung a download accelerator.

*edit* just tried getting on realitymod website and it looks like its down. keep getting database errors.

yeah, both are on there. will release more links soon. I dont recommend using PR-Downloader. It doesnt download the executable files, it just downloads straight to the bf2\mods folder, installing the files along the way. this may seem like a good idea, but if you need to format your PC for any reason, you'll need to download the files again.

The second link you provided in the initial post has downloading software? Or, does a downloader with good fetures have to be found elsewhere?

the second link is just a downloader/installer that uses a torrent type system to download the files. It doesn't download executable setup files. It is just a Project Reality installer that accesses the internet to download the files to bf2\mods.

If you're going to download from a website link, I'd recommend using Download Accelerator Plus. It can access other download sites to find more sources for the files.

Well I couldn't take it anymore so i skipped out of work for a few hours to get this mod downloaded. Right now I am downloading the 2 files ;D
