This goes really off-topic, but I've wondered for a long while, if there was a nation with as strong fighters as the Spartans. As usual, I shouldn't have looked so far: Finnish soldiers in WWII were extremely efficient. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_war
Just look at the casualties and the sizes of the armies. And it was −43 °C (−45 °F) in January 1940. Us Finns used teamwork and tactics (such as "motti", pocket: flank the enemy, attack from all directions in the same time. Another one was the use of Molotov thingy-tails to burn the crews of Soviet tanks. Also, Simo Häyhä was one of the best snipers of the entire World War II.) to win the battles. We still lost most of Karelia, but we didn't lose our independence to Soviet union.
Maybe after a thousand years, there will be a film made of the legendary Finns, and a clan named "Finnish War Fighters".

motti - attack from all directions at the same time (good one; of course it would have to be terrain dependent to use that tactic)
=FWF= Looks pretty good doesn't it.
Well perhaps, we will have at least one Finnish War Fighter soon.

I think motti or "motitus" was used in a very big scale (I'll throw in a guess and say the radius of the motti circle was about 100 meters at least). The Finnish troops would encircle the Soviet troops, cutting their supply lines and ways out of the situation. Actually, the Finnish soldiers did not attack the enemies right away: they wanted to make the enemy tired, hungry, and use up their ammunition, and to surrender rather than to fight back. Also the Soviet troops would lose their morale, and equipment (vehicles and weapons) after surrendering.
The tactic was used because the Finnish troops simply couldn't win the enemy in a head-on battle, because the Soviets had better equipment and more troops. Thanks to the enemy surrendering, the Finnish army got a lot of Soviet equipment for their use, including tanks.
Using motti in Battlefield 2 and, especially, Forgotten Hope 2 could be done in a much smaller scale by hiding in the woods or whatever environment allow effective hiding. Of course, it would be the more direct and fast approach that wasn't used during Winter War or Continuation war. Since in the games, both sides have pretty much equal equipment and cutting their supply lines isn't really possible. So, just encircle the enemy and attack from all directions. Could be a good tactic against tanks as the drivers would get confused and panic after getting hit from every direction.
But, could motitus work in Project Reality or ArmA 2? The maps are huge and I think the resupplying is done with resupply trucks, meaning you could prohibit the enemy from getting resupplied. And thanks to the enemy being surrounded from all directions, the resupply can't get to the enemy at all, from any direction. Unless there is a way for an aerial resupply, making motti a little useless.
But anyway, since PR is working, I'll try to get into it. I hope I could play with a Spartan who could teach me the basics to get me started. I will probably be in XFire and Teamspeak at 1915 hrs UTC, if someone's awake/able to play at that time.
