OK as Deadaim said, the way the question is phased it is not asking for a debate on whether global warming is a fact or not, the question implies it is, as do the vast majority or scientists.
I do however think you all have points, the fact is the earth has only warmed 0.8 degree Celsius in the last 100 years! OK so most has been in the last decade or 2, however that is not much. I think we notice it more in the UK as our country is much more susceptible to climate changes. For example, I am now 25, I have pictures of me playing in about 1 foot of snow 18 years ago, my parents tell me that every year before that we had good amounts of snow, since then I have personally noticed that the amount of snow we have got has got less and less and less. Last year we had none, well I believe it snowed for 5 minutes one day. This year we have 2-3 inches of snow here. A tiny amount.
To say that it will not effect us is ridiculous, it does not matter which religion you are or are not, when you have children yourself, then try and say that. If you do have children then I really feel you need to look at your attitude. Our children are our future and speaking personally I want the best possible future for mine.
Is mankind to blame? Bruno check your facts first. The ozone does keep us warm, and is depleting. I do not understand your point. Surly you prove the point of Global Warming? If it should be getting colder due to a depleting ozone, then why is it getting warmer?
CO/2 gasses (released by pollution) are insulating the earth unnaturally fast (according to scientists).
If Global Warming is a "myth" then why would our countries especially the UK be investing so much money into "Environmentally Friendly" ways of supplying our energy, and cutting pollution? Lets be honest, no government is going to do something that would cost them this amount of money if they didn't think there was something to be gained from it! The US are the biggest polluters in the world, yet they are putting money into "greener" power sources, and trying to cut their pollution output. Strange that the president of the US old and new would be investing so heavily in this if Global warming was a myth! You could say that if that was the case they will go down in history as the biggest wasters of public money ever! In my opinion this is very unlikely!
Psyco if you want to drive your thirsty car then thats up to you, personally I cannot stand burning my money up in a car. I do not drive a economical car because I think it will help the environment but I do drive one because I know it helps my wallet. If you can afford to spend money in that way then great, but if you can't or wish to spend your money on other things then you can have the added bonus of trying to make a difference to the environment. None of this matters of course because China is the second biggest polluters in the world and they are fast catching the US and they will not slow down for anything.

As one study after another has pointed to carbon dioxide and other man-made emissions as the most plausible explanation, the cautious community of science has embraced an idea initially dismissed as far-fetched. The result is a convergence of opinion rarely seen in a profession where attacking each other's work is part of the process. Every major scientific body to examine the evidence has come to the same conclusion: The planet is getting hotter; man is to blame; and it's going to get worse. That is from This website that is from a newspaper in Washington. I have underlined the thing i believe answers the question.

Hmm it will be interesting to see who thinks they know better than every major scientific body! Bet someone does! If you can find a quote from a reputable source that says the exact opposite, but is embraced by every major scientific body, I will pay you money! Edit: Oh and here is an article that Americans may find interesting: www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthnews/3307114/Man-is-to-blame-for-global-warming,-US-admits.html Surly its a myth, after all only the president of the United States and his top scientific adviser agree man is to blame! Edit 2: Here is the proof about the US climate change policy from my earlier statement: www.epa.gov/climatechange/policy/index.htmlSurly a myth! After all the most powerfull nation on the planet agree man is to blame! I'm done on this topic now.

just look at this: ONLY 0.117% of CO2 is man-made ONLY 0.001% of water vapor is man-made WATER VAPOR ACCOUNTS FOR 95% OF GREENHOUSE GASES!!! ONLY 0.278% of GREENHOUSE GASES ARE MAN-MADE!!! Look at these also: [/img]

I'm not a scientist, so I'm not going to argue, but if we were to have that hypothetical argument it's true that the environment naturally releases ridiculous amounts of greenhouse gasses. Look at the results of a single volcanis eruption, for example. And to be fair, I do believe the world is warming--but I see it as an incredibly long-term and slow-approaching thing. Humans a pretty tenacious buggers too. Unless someone flicks a switch and we all die, I imagine we'll find a way to cope with A) a warmer planet or B) extra-terrestrial habitation.

Lol what I'm saying is that it has to be certain qualities in the chemicals we put into the air, not just the chemicals themselves. If every polutant we put into that air was EXACTLY the same as the polutants naturally put into the air (forest fires, volcanos, etc.) then our addition would be miniscule, and would be counter-acted by the fairly strong natural checks+balances. So, if we accept Bruno's graphs (and I do, I've seen similar studies, and it's logical), then we have to ask, "So, what are we putting in that nature isn't?"
Another thing to note is that the earth commonly experiences periods of cooling and warming in its cycle, including but not limitted to ice ages. In the 1500s, for example, there was a scientifically commonly accepted period of cooling which affected crop-growth and population in most communities. While scientists say this is man-made, I'd suggest that not ALL of it is, and that nature has checks and balances which usually correct these things, at least when they occur naturally. Of course, if I were a world leader and had to make the choice to either A) Gamble on the continued survivability of the Earth or B) Take preventative actions, I'd choose the latter, even if I didn't fully believe that the earth was warming due to Man.
And Angry, scientists used to let blood in order to balance the four humours, and they thought that women were crazy because their uturus' were moving around, and could be cured by lots of sex. The former was held to be true until the late 1800s. Don't always believe what other people tell you, no matter how many people do.

I wish i lived in the time period when women wouldn't argue with us. (No offence meant). But DAMN my girlfriend has to be the most argumentative little ***** in the world. With her previous bf's, she got her own way, but with me it doesnt work and she doesnt like it. Sorry for the profanity, I could go on, but this isn't the place
